This place by far has the best selection of whiskies in Aberdeen, it's an idea to order a pint or a dram whilst you look over the whisky menu, as this might take you a while! I love how they have selected groups of whiskies...More

If you enjoy whiskey and visiting Aberdeen, it is “the place” to visit. There is an enormous selection of whiskeys with reasonable pricing. There are also set tasting menus which are very good for discovering new tastes and smells. Be aware that the place looks...More

It may not look that inviting from outside, but inside is the finest whisky collection in Aberdeen. It really is a must visit for a whisky lover! Disputed the run down look it it very friendly inside. Not all the staff are whisky experts but...More

Used to drink here in the 90s so it seemed a good idea to visit again. Still a fantastic selection of whiskies and staff still know what to recommend. If you drink whiskey and come to Aberdeen it would be criminal not to visit the...More

Thank you, we like to think of The Grill as timeless.

Despite the name (The Grill has no food) and the unassuming exterior, this is a little gem of a pub, with 4 well kept cask ales that change frequently, and a few kegs and bottles. The really impressive selection here is their malt whiskies, though....More

I used to dread coming here when colleagues/friends wanted to stop in but I think it's fair to say that was misguided and I am now a fan. It's dated and it doesn't pretend to have airs and graces and play the latest music but...More

Great traditional Pub maybe the best one in Aberdeen. Good selection of beer and great selection of whisky and great service. Atmosphere is so nice, interesting to see locals drop in.

Found myself in here on Valentine's Day evening on a business trip north, and it was an excellent escape from the hordes of amorous couples elsewhere. Truly superb whisky selection with a huge menu folder. Whiskies suitable for all tastes (unless you don't like whisky,...More

Thank you for your kind words. We actually stock over 500 different whiskies, but whose counting, enjoy just some of them.

A fine choice of bar for the lover of single malts and original Victorian ambience. The staff are knowledgeable and will happily direct you to a suitable snifter of whatever suits your palette. Recommended.

Couldn't figure out on TripAdvisor how to respond to the question in your response to my review, regarding "minimum of electronics." What I was trying to say was that this was an older style pub in the way that I prefer, i.e. not with tons of TVs and neon all over the place. I stood at the bar just inside the entrance and so didn't see the TV over the door. I think down the other end of the room there looked to be a couple of electronic machines of some kind, but mostly I just saw bar, bartenders, whisky, benches, patrons... perfect, as far as I'm concerned. I guess you have to have one TV at least, for those important matches, but I was happy to see the focus on drinking and talking. Loved your bar. Every city should have one. Want to come back. Thank you!

Thanks for replying, I thought maybe that's what you meant but wanted to make sure. We're glad you enjoyed the place despite the small concessions to modern life. We will try and keep it like this for as long as we can.
