On a long weekend visit to Derry , the Java became our base , all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, couldn't do enough . We had different soup on a daily basis , the homemade lemon meringue, pear and almond tarts were brilliant. They will happily serve up any dish you want, We cannot recommend highly enough.

Poor tea and on a previous visit I tried the coffee which was insipid. Scone didn't taste freshly baked.

best value for money i have seen in a long time. the pot of tea and enormous scone were very tasty, at a price i can only vaguely remember from the past. while walking to the counter to order, i saw other diner's plates, piled high with large insides for heated rolls, etc. the servings are quite generous. no tablecloths,... Paid a visit a few times and we have always found the food fairly good. The coffee and scones are good value and there always seems to be a crowd. This coffee shop could do with the Grid ceiling being renewed as it is discoloured and the light fittings are missing bulbs.I'm sure the owners must have the cash as... More

The food here is lovely, fresh and reasonably priced. As a regular lunch time customer there is one thing that lets the place down-the service. The majority of staff are plesant, helpful and courteous however one member in particular lets the place down. Disinterested, borderline rude and takes no care when making your order. The first few times i thought... More

Needed a coffee and popped in here. Ended up having lunch. Great soup and brown bread: lovely sandwich and good coffee: hit the spot! Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Great to see a local cafe offering superfood salade and juices. So important that places have a healthy option too. That's what I ordered and was not disappointment. I will be back. Lots of variety on the menu too- stew, soups, sandwiches, scones.

We took a break from touring the city in Java. Friendly staff and fab scones. Only down side was the floor was very slippy going up to the bathroom.
