Lovely local bar with lots to offer

A bar that has many personalities - poetry reading, live music and an art gallery!! Lots of choice of local beers which are fantastic and the bar manager is launching his own local gin in February!!! Very friendly bar with a very relaxed atmosphere - chill out vibe!

Popped into this pub which was very close to the Premier Inn cathedral quarter. Typical looking old Irish pub ( someone said one of the oldest). Very traditional. On the evening we popped in at around 7 there was an Irish band playing which apparently is a regular occurrence. Really good range of beers and importantly good Guinness!

Lovely food, indifferent staff. Such a shame as had the potential to be great. Won't rush back. Maybe the staff had had a bad day.

Office Christmas lunch for 15. Given the intimacy of the Pub it was not possible for one large table, but we were all sat near each other and all served at the same time. The Christmas Fayre at £20 was very good value and the standard was high. The Bar and waiting staff were very attentive and we had no... More

Feeling a bit the worse for wear after a fun night in Belfast, the John Hewitt is a fantastic bit of historical tradition. A Gem of a pub with a blazing log fire and a warm friendly welcome. The steak pie and sausage & mash were yummy and well priced. Well worth a visit

Excellent food, hearty and warming. Great Guinness/drinks in general and a very friendly welcome too. Even better when the fire's lit!

The manager of this bar is rude, patronising and has no idea how to speak to people. Working tonight the 27/11/15 in a black shirt. Will never be back due to his attitude!

Nice beer, good atmosphere, good food. A nice log fire, and there is live music a couple of times every week

Have been her a quite a few times and it is always very good for food. They always have a small menu that is changed regularly and a few specials. The food itself is always freshly cooked and good sized portions for a fair price. Always a good selection of beers and wine, including specials again. Top spot for lunch... More
