This has to be one of the best restaurants in Belfast. The service is always fantastic and the food divine. I have been quite a few times and am always impressed at how high a standard they never fail to achieve. Barking Dog- you rock!

Warm welcome for myself and colleague who hadn't booked. It was a busy place so I would advise booking ahead. Quirky but good atmosphere. Staff very knowledgeable about the product both food and drink. Highly recommend the Beef shin burger -cooked to perfection. Attentive service but not intrusive and a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely would return

Had dinner here with my girlfriend on our first night in Belfast. Definitely worth booking ahead as it was busy and we actually couldn't get our table when we first arrived and as there is no bar to wait at, we had to go for a quick drink next door (we were 10 minutes early though and you can book... Stumbled across The Barking Dog while looking for a lively restaurant that would cater for dietary intolerances, and well, what a way to kickstart a weekend. We had an absolutely top quality meal from start to finish, the food was excellent, great value for money and the whole experience was wrapped up by the outstanding service, a real credit considering... Ate here for family Sunday lunch. Service was excellent, staff very pleasant and service very good. Excellent broad menu choice. Restaurant was busy and some relaxed live music gave a lovely atmosphere. Portions were large, especially the roast dinners. Lovely desserts. Will definitely be back.

Was looking for a restaurant walking distance from our hotel (Malone Lodge) for our first night in Belfast and as a birthday dinner. Great menu - tapas style starters and great main course options, with a children's menu too. Had a great local gin and fever tree tonic and prosecco opening drinks followed by great carafe of wine. Staff very... More

We went in at around 9:20 with our kids (ages 7 and 10) and we were told this is the law in NI (children cannot enter in licensed restaurants after 9pm), so we were turned down (and end up going to Villa Italia, a pizza place on the next block). The truth is, we went to another restaurant the day... More

My wife attended university in Belfast. She wanted to show our 2 kids all the places she used to go, places of interest etc etc. We passed The Barking Dog on the way to the pub up the road, The Bot. Fortunately The Bot's menu wasn't what my wife had hoped for. So back we went. Thankfully they had room... More

Called in for dinner one evening at short notice. Great menu with Tapas type options and main course options which can be mixed and matched. Chicken and sweet potato ravioli main meal was absolutely delicious. Nice selection of craft beers and gin too. . Staff very professional and polite too. Will be back
