The food is wonderful, the staff is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is lovely. In addition it is conveniently located near the Queesn's University. We had tapas for lunch and every one was a gem. The same evening we returned for dinner and both had excellent fish dishes.

We loved this place. Charming and quaint with amazing food and incredible service. If you find yourself walking in the University District, you absolutely need to stop by here and grab a bite. We tried the Fish of the Day in a delicious curry sauce as well as the Fish & Chips (yummy!!!).

Consistently excellent food. The fish pie is particularly hard to look past. On this visit we had Catalin as our waiter. He was very attentive and funny and really added to an already enjoyable experience.

This was my third visit for Sunday lunch at the Barking Dog and it never fails to deliver . What is not to love: great roasts with fantastic local produce , an amazing fish pie and tapas if you want a change, yummy puddings, excellent charming service and a fab guitar player. I could stay all day ! Booking essential... More

Nice restaurant close to Malone Lodge and Queens University. Varied upscale menu. Good service. Music for adults only after 9:30 pm

Place was booked solid with the only table available at 530...we took it! Sitting amongst many other empty tables who awaited their reserved diners during our entire meal, I couldn't help but wonder how much money they weren't making add a result. No matter, service was quick, efficient and freindly. Food was bursting with flavor. I think 4 1/2 stars... More

Fabulous. Everyone was over the moon with this meal. First thing that you must know is that apparently there are no bad restaurants in Belfast. This is a foodie city for sure. The bartender started by looking at each person and guessing their drink of choice (he was pretty close) and the Russian bartender was hilarious “that cider is dry... More

Very welcoming staff in a pleasantly decorated restaurant. We enjoyed starters with chips from their vegetarian menu. They were well presented and delicious.

Very, very impressed 😀. We walked the mile out of town on a warm dry evening and were ready for our meal. Dinner was delicious, classy and seasonal. Service and ambience spot on. The bill, including house wine was very reasonable. Highly recommended.
