Was looking forward to eating at Bill's but was very disappointed. Was sat at table nearest to entrance, worst table as it's very cold in the winter with people arriving/leaving so sat in my coat for the most part. Has good veggie options however the...food was quite bland and my husband and I cook better at home. Expensive for the small portions and would not mind if the food tasted good but was nothing special. Won't be visiting again.More

Arrived for my booking early , booking was 4.45. We only received our main at 5.45 , so I asked to order our dessert ( as that's what we were so looking forward to) only to be told no sorry kitchen closes at 5.45 !...That's understandable but should inform of that when ordering main! Was so dissapointed.More

My husband and I ate at Bills Cardiff Bay and although it was nice to be out during COVID-19 I must say the meal was not as good as I was expecting. I appreciate that things are different at the moment but with a sharing...starter of hummus, avocado, tzatziki & toasted focaccia there were only 3 small pieces of bread which we were fighting over. My husband’s burger looked small, dry and uninteresting. It was described as burger with lettuce, tomato, red onion & spiced mayo in a sesame seed bun. There was no sign of any lettuce and the bun did not look like it was toasted. My pan fried chicken with mushroom sauce should have come with herbed mashed potatoes but the mash were plain. The creamy wild mushroom sauce was in the tiniest of jugs. I asked for a little more as Bills in Cardiff central restaurant serve a large jug of sauce. To my surprise they charged an additional £1.75 for this. Will I come back........ probably notMore

Arranged a lunch for a catch up with an old friend. We took advantage of their Monday to Wednesday lunch menu. The food was excellent and excellent value. Combined with £10 off a bottle wine it would be difficult to find anything wrong. Will be...back very soonMore

Booked this last minute and we were so glad we did. What a lovely unusual place with a different type of menu. The atmosphere was happy and friendly, our waitress was absolutely excellent (not British) and the food was beautiful. Really couldn't fault our visit....More

Chose the restaurant as a treat for breakfast and was not disappointed - the service was ok though but everyone was friendly and keeping people safe - not a 5* rating due to the fact the tip (12.5%) was automatically added - you could take...it off but it’s a pet hate of mine - also the toast came with no butter and when it did finally arrive the toast was hard - but well worth the moneyMore

Considering there weren’t that many people in there on a Friday late lunch, we felt the service was a bit lack lustre. We were sat at a lovely spot at the back next to the glass to watch the world go by. The food was...ok, a little on the expensive side for what it was. We would have stayed for a second drink after finishing food but there was no one around. Someone appeared 10 or 15 minutes later but we thought it safer to just ask for the bill and leave.More

Went with my husband for food. I ordered eggs Benedict with crispy streaky bacon (instead of ham). When it arrived both poached eggs were completed undercooked and 'snotty'. The waitress took them away and didnt take my husbands food as I thought it would only...be a couple of mins for fresh poached eggs. She then came back and said they were cooking me a fresh one. 10 mins later I am still there. In this time my husband has almost finished his steak and chips. Eventually it came back - only for the bacon to be almost raw. Crispy bacon soggy, uncooked. Again waitress came over and took it away. I am not sure how it could even have left the kitchen like that!! By this time my husband has finished his food and I give up. I informed waitress I was not waiting anymore Her response was to offer me dessert. My response- dessert?? I havent even had my dinner yet!! So we left without having any food. Really disappointed at the incapable lack of care over eggs Benedict, which should have been easy for the kitchen to cook. I love Bill's usually and have been going for years, but this has left a very sour taste and spoiled a rare meal out for me and my husband.More

After previous 10/10 experience we was expecting more, the whole experience was average. I had heard so many amazing reviews. My food order arrived with the wrong steak sauce and also due to a potato intolerance the chips were requested to be swapped to the...seasonal greens, the waitress said that was fine. The steak came with a salad when asking the waitress again she said salad was the only alternative. However, as the seasonal greens were an extra £1 I would have been happy to pay the extra. There were so many additional opportunities where the restaurant could upsell there products. Great location, beautiful settingMore

The food was well presented, hot and tasty. Service of a decent standard, but lacks that extra something that makes you feel special. I would certainly eat here again.
