Never written a review before and only doing this now to let people know how they would be treated for politely questioning the staff at this place. Never in my entire experience of dining have I ever experienced a rude staff as this and judging...More

The worst service I have ever experienced. I don't normally leave reviews but this I felt warranted a bad review. The staff were rude and condescending. Will NOT be going back ever and will mention to friends and family about how atrocious the service was.

Visited with friends, after seeing a show nearby. Staff friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was clean and appeared busy, we were seated quickly and served drinks so far so good. The menu selection was disappointing and limited, I decided on a lamb curry, my...More

This is an Indian restaurant just off Caroline Street - if you know Cardiff you will know that Caroline St itself is no one's idea of fine dining, but this is a new build in the so-called Brewery Quarter and a different thing altogether. Nice...More

The restaurant looks nice as you enter, that’s about it for the positives The service was poor, it seem as if we were an inconvenience being there and our waiter really didn’t like speaking to the women in the group. The food whilst not terrible...More

During a recent visit to Cardiff, we ended up at Spice Quarter for dinner on a slow evening. Due to a bit of a language gap, the service we had got off to a bumpy start. That, however, got better as our visit and dinner...More

Nice clean restaurant & friendly staff, service was quick. Food however was very average, mushroom rice was just white basmati with a few mushrooms thrown in. Pilau was Basmati with some saffron thrown on to colour yellow. Lamb was rather tough chicken was ok. All...More

With it's proximity to St Mary's St and Caroline St (Chippy lane) I was unsure of what to expect upon entry. From the outside it doesn't look much and I perhaps expected it to be a chain restaurant. I was wrong. Spice Quarter is an...More

I was dining alone and so made a visit here. I arrived and was seated promptly. I was given the menus, my drinks order was taken, my beer arrived quickly, and my food order was then taken too. All good so far. After 35 minutes...More

Description
Spice Quarter is on the first floor of the popular restaurant hub, the Old Brewery Quarter in Cardiff city centre. Unlike the capital’s tens of ‘cheap eat’ restaurants, Spice Quarter places itself in the a la carte fine dining set. They've got the contemporary look right. And the food’s genuinely excellent. Visible hard at work in the glass fronted kitchen, each of the five chefs, recruited from luxury hotels in Delhi and Bombay, specialises in cooking from their regional home. So from the street-side eateries of Punjab comes a smooth butter chicken, while a Malabari fish curry could have come direct from the South Indian coast.
