Monday 17th Oct. This was my third visit here for breakfast ( Pettigrew Cooked ) and it was every bit as good as the previous two occasions . Beautifully cooked and very tasty items: sausage, bacon, beans ( which I think they bake themselves ) mushrooms, sweet small tomatoes, poached egg and tasty white toast ( baked locally ). I... More

I took my aunt here for an Afternoon Tea treat. The setting is pretty and the use of vintage crockery is a nice touch. The service was friendly but not very quick and I had to ask twice for hot water (which I would have thought should have been supplied with a loose leaf teapot as a matter of course).... More

I booked Pettigrews for my baby shower for myself and 8 of my friends and we had a lovely afternoon :-) I was very impressed with the service in the lead up to my booking and for Hannah's patience as my numbers went up and down a few times. On the day itself they let me decorate a corner of... More

Booked afternoon tea for two for 2pm on Sunday 25.9.16, Surroundings are pleasant and lovely to have a choice of loose leaf tea. Finger sandwiches had ample fillings but rather skimpy 9 fingers for two of us!. Roasted vegetables and hummus filling was particularly delicious. Granary bread was rather dry - think it was the end of the loaf that... More

Perhaps I should start by saying it was very busy so that may be the reason for the problems we had. We had gluten free afternoon tea for two which was nice and there were 3 different cakes to choose from which was nice. The kitchen area very VERY small however and we were worried about the risk cross-contamination but... More

Had afternoon tea here which was a birthday present from my friend so was expecting it to be just us but while waiting for our table my daughter and friends daughter arrived-another surprise so 4 of us for tea. As it was the weekend of the Roald Dahl celebrations town was heaving and the tea room exceptionally busy, our table... More

Called in here one afternoon while staying in Cardiff, so pleased we did! The tea room is small but had lovely period dated furniture to sit at. The tea was served in a huge tea pot and a beautiful china cup and saucer provided. My hubby had a wonderful egg and mayo sandwich, tasted good and it was well presented... More

We had an excellent cream tea the Bara Brith and scones (light as a feather) were both delicious. Will definitely come again. It is small and was very busy the day we went but service was quick and staff very nice. They have a bakery too at Victoria Park which I plan to check out. This gatehouse was boarded up... More
