The Red Lion has had a reputation for good quality food for a long while. Visited with wife for lunch and we were not disappointed. To be critical, the restaurant area was quite cold. I appreciate the weather was a bit chilly but the owners should have planned with placement if heaters. Good selection of fare on a varied menu.... More

We have been here a number of times for Sunday lunch and it is consistently good. The staff are friendly, efficient and accommodating. The decor is pleasant modern country style and it is well designed. I would advise booking in advance as they are always busy, but they will try their best to find room for you.

Excellent choices. £14.50 for 2 courses, and good value as delicious, inspired menu. My monkfish starter was delightful followed by excellent Bream. Lovely atmosphere and diligent, helpful staff. Lots of families dining, all enjoying the fine food. We will return.

I recently attended a wedding at the Red Lion. It has a lovely atmosphere and the staff couldn't be more friendly. Food was excellent quality and there was a real sense of occasion.

Went for my wife's birthday with our daughter and her boyfriend and have to say we had the most fantastic meal we have had in a long time. The pub itself is a traditional country pub with a real open fire. The welcome by the staff and the service is second to none. As for the food don't take my... More

The quality of food, dining atmosphere and attentive but unobtrusive service, resulted in this being a superb midweek treat for myself and teenage son. A local gem to behold!!! First visit but will definitely return very soon. Accepts Taste card too!!!

Called in for a lunch time meal lovely pub but very small lunch menu. We were greeted by very friendly staff which to me is always a bonus. We ordered two fish and chips which we both thought the batter was very good however it was a small fish and the mushy peas very dry average meal probably won't return... More

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. The reason our menu is small is because we use fresh ingredients across the board, and everything is cooked to order. The fish we use is completely fresh, and is battered and cooked once you order; we feel that quality and freshness are paramount, however this does usually mean... More

So so good. Looks like an ordinary pub from the outside but the food was outstanding and reasonably priced too. I had a chickpea stew which was zinging with flavour, and my husband had pork with chips (both off the lunch menu.) Husband was totally quiet with just contented sighs! The sign of great food. Puds (brownie /rice pudding) were... More

I had been told a few times that this gastro pub was worth going to but to be honest I didn't realise just how good it is. In a warm and friendly atmosphere we had plenty to choose from in the menu and I have to say that for my main this was one of the best mussel dishes I... More

A sympathetically refurbished and well presented stone built country pub, serving modern British and European cuisine; traditional dishes coupled with inventive flavour combinations, that change with the seasons, and the very best of local produce. Delicious food, modestly priced.
