"Longa" Meaning: A musical note (makam), that appears in early Turkish music, as well as modern compositions, in order to add 'eastern' sound and Turkish motifs with works which require the highest level of skill to perform due to its complex but euphonic structure that allows to produce a beautiful thing out of such a confusing theme by the virtue of the perfect combination of modern and classic, just like our food.

Visited for a lunch with 3 friends. Went late morning, place was full. Nice, clean space with a good atmosphere.
Order at the counter, food was a tad slow in arriving but it’s a small, busy place so understood. 3 of us had the eggs and susuk which came in a small silver platter and a basket of very good Turkish bread. Sooo tasty, a little overpriced at £7.50.
Our one hungry friend had the sharing platter, just shy of £19, all to himself. What a feast. The eggs and susuk in the middle surrounded by bowls of yummy things like rose, honey and clotted cream, date jam, olives, and more together with a separate plate of 3 cheeses.
Definitely made for two so I will be returning to try that with a friend. Definitely recommended.

Long overdue a review, our third time visiting Longa and on their first day of opening after lockdown, we had to get back there.
We both had the Menemen, our current favourite. With a beautiful rich sauce of tomatoes and peppers and Longa's amazing spice fusion topped with two fried eggs and cheese, it is in our opinion one of the best breakfasts you can have to start your day! The dish is accompanied by a lovely basket of Turkish Bread which you cannot wait to dip into the rich, spicy sauce.
We really love the atmosphere of this fresh, modern café, with their traditional dishes and very helpful & friendly staff, of which keeps us coming back every time.
We also took away with us some fresh Focaccia and Chocolate filled buns, which were a real treat with a coffee when we got home!!
Thank you Longa for your hospitality and great food, and we hope many others discover your wonderful little café!! :)

Visited Longa for the first time this morning with my partner.
Firstly everything was best practice in terms of covid procedures. Hand sanitizer station as you enter, track and trace in place and all tables socially distanced.
Now onto the food, we ordered the Anatolian which is a sharing platter made for 2 and two coffees, I had a Turkish coffee which certainly gave me a buzz. It all came out quickly and everything was delicious. The egg and Turkish sausage was very tasty, the bread was great to carry all the accompaniments, big shout out to the honey and clotted cream with rose, still thinking about it hours later.
All in all a great brunch spot, would highly recommend Longa.

The restaurant we were originally planning to go to was shut so we decided to pop into here for brunch. Despite it being about closing time we were welcomed in and not made to feel rushed at all. Staff were friendly and service was quick. The food itself was exceptional, we went for a sharing platter and could not believe the amount of food we got for the (very reasonable) price. It was presented beautifully and was so tasty. Can't wait to come back.

Family lunch visit. Friendly staff. Limited menu is good - enough choices but not overwhelming. The sharing platter was lovely - make sure you have a sweet tooth if you pick the option with various honey and butter. No alcohol if that’s your thing. Simple food, nicely presented, good value. Nice staff.

Great start to the Easter weekend ; unplanned visit locally to seek a breakfast . From the first approach and look through the window to see inside ; met by a welcoming smile we ventured in . We hadn’t booked - shown to comfortable last available seats and tables .
We enjoyed fresh brewed Turkish tea to start ; Simit and egg with spiced beef sausage was absolutely delicious along with Eggs and Potato - all so fresh and absolutely perfectly served . More Turkish tea to finish . Mood , ambience , relaxing music and superb service make Longa well worth a visit . We will be back for certain - thank you !

Best cafe in Cardiff!! I live just down the road from this amazing cafe, and I love it so much... I recommend it to everyone. The service is always so friendly and welcoming, and the food is sensational: so uniquely flavoursome and beautifully presented. You will never be disappointed at this Cafe!

Firstly, the food was amazing, delicious spicy eggs that are served in a copper pan that somehow simultaneously manage to stay hot while you eat them whilst not overcooking (how do they do that??). I went with my friend and our two noisy toddlers, they were loud as usual but the staff didn’t make us feel embarrassed or awkward, they even changed the way they cooked my eggs so I could have my chilli butter on the side and share my food with my son who can’t cope with much spice. I’ll definitely be returning, can’t recommend it highly enough!

I visited with a friend of mine today on a recommendation and so glad we did. On arrival Longa was a hive of activity with many of the Turkish community dining which in itself is a great indication of how excellent the food is. On arrival we were greeted and taken to our table speedily, handed our menus and there was a great deal of choice. We both decided to try the menemen, a dish of scrambled egg , tomatoes, peppers with cheese on the top accompanied with fresh Turkish bread. The dishes arrived within 10 minutes piping hot. Absolutely delicious! I had clotted cream with honey as a dessert which was lush! Will definitely return.

We took my sister and Turkish husband here for breakfast. The food was lovely and beautifully presented.
We were embarrassed though that we were expected to pay for our food before we even had anything served to us. It didn't come across as very hospitable and not what you expect when you're having a sit down meal and maybe wanting to order more like we did.
On another note, the toilet seat was loose, which is obviously dangerous and almost caused an accident!
The male serving staff were very nice, however seemed to be a little inexperienced. They didn't automatically clear the table when they came to take a further order and had to be asked to remove some empty plates when they brought a new order to our tableto give us some room.
But overall I would give this establishment another go as the food is amazing.

Lovely little cafe, serving breakfast/brunch/lunch. A great find. We enjoyed the Anatolian breakfast platter with shaksuka- delicious combination of savoury items (salami, olives, sausages, hummus) and sweet (including fabulous rose jam and honey amongst other things). Friendly and helpful service. Also great Turkish coffee. Highly recommended

Variety of brunch dishes given the Turkish treatment so my eggs were spiced and accompanied by sautéed potatoes and cheese. Tasty and well presented. Reasonably priced. Small setting so a bit cramped but would return

Had a wonderful visit to this cafe on a Friday afternoon with a friend and got the apple tea which was recommended to me by the server. She made a great suggestion and I loved it! The service itself was excellent and the server made me feel super welcome as she was so enthusiastic and positive.
I would 100% come back here, and have recommended it to many of my friends since!

I’ve been eating brunch at their Whitchurch Road branch regularly for the past two years and as soon as I knew they’d opened this restaurant in town I booked a table for myself and two friends. The first thing that strikes you is the excellent location and the impressive exterior and interior and it continued from there. We ordered a range of starters to sample as much as we could - particular highlights were the Turkish cacik - cucumber yoghurt with pomegranates; simple home-made pillowy bread with a black peppery, garlicky butter; stuffed dolma (vine leaves) with a berry jus and hot hummus with melted cheese and pastirma (this cured Turkish beef coated in cumin and coriander is a must and also came cold with some sliced cheddar and rocket). The superb, welcome service from their Whitchurch Road branch continues here. This venture is the brainchild and hard work of sisters who care passionately about the food and their customers - supporting them will feed your body and your heart.
