Three of us went to Casanova's on a Saturday lunchtime on the off chance they could fit us in. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived and throughout the meal. One of our party is vegetarian and although there were vegetarian options she fancied one of the other dishes and asked for the dish without the... More

Had a fantastic meal on a busy Saturday night with 14 friends. We had pre chosen from the Autumn a la Carte menu and every dish was delicious. We were seated upstairs which had just two larger tables creating a relaxed atmosphere with attentive and friendly staff that got everything just right

Atmosphere good, limited lunch time menu but the veggie options were outstanding. Nice selection of wine. I would rather have lunch here, a local long serving restaurant than in one of the numerous franchises that seem to dominate Cardiff these days. Easy to miss - opposite a huge NCP carpark off Westgate Street. Apparently gets crazy busy on the rugby... More

In principle I avoid Italian restaurants when abroad, because I rather like trying local food. But I was brought here and I found true Italian style. Excellent "pizzoccheri", which are a rarity even in Italy, and very good wine. Friendly (and truly Italian) staff; only the furniture could be better, as it lacks in style and personality. All in all,... More

Went here not knowing what to expect. My partner booked it and didn't look at the menu so no idea. Menu was limited 5 started plus specials main was 6 options plus specials. The food = stunning! Some of the best food I have had eating out. Very personal service and thoroughly enjoyed the evening Thanks

I had been looking forward to sampling this lovely little italian restaurant in the heart of Cardiff. Firstly I called to let them know that we wouldn't be able to make the original time booked due to traffic; the staff were exceptionally accommodating and rearranged the table for me. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and upon being seated we... More

Went with a couple of friends for a meal on Friday night. It was really hard to choose what to eat as every starter and main course listed sounded amazing. In the end I had a beetroot and goats cheese salad as a starter, which was tangy and creamy and crisp, beautiful. My main course was lamb with chorizo mash... More

I've been eating here for years - each time its been mostly excellent, and I have left a couple of reviews here to prove this. I had an appalling experience in Casanova today, the food really was very average compared to its previous high standards. My starter and main took a really really long time (there was only 12 others... More

I was visiting Cardiff and called in to Casanova on the off chance for dessert. I had Earl Grey panacotta with a salted caramel swirl around the plate. Absolutely the best panacotta I've tasted. Subtle and delicate! My friend had tiramissu which she said was the best she'd tasted. I wish I had tried a full meal there but it... More

The decoration is 0 except for the pannacotta. The service lady was shy and not confident at the end she was eating and chewing at the bar. I didn't feel enthusiasm from her. I would recommend to anyone to try but I wouldn't eat here every week!
