It was a while back when I visited this restaurant and yet it's still the best ploughmans lunch I have had. The meal was served quickly and all our group -around 10 of us- got our meals together. The ploughmans that I had was wonderful. It came with a huge wedge of cheese and a French stick as well as... More

I arrived early by taxi. The inside and outside of the building was grand, cosy and peaceful. While waiting for the General to arrive I had two teas and looked at the menu. L A S A G N E! It of course had to be the vegetarian lasagne. There is a lot of choice on the menu and there... More

I wouldn't say this place is anything special, but never the less worth a visit. Prices are just slightly above average bit is reflected in the service. Very helpful staff. The table we were at was slightly cramped but did the job. Overall we were pleased:)

I have eaten at this pub on numerous occasions, and was looking forward to this family reunion, last Saturday. I was personally very disappointed by the meal that I was served. I ordered hand carved ham eggs and chips..... nothing which could be ruined here!!!! The ham was so thin... you could see through it !!! The eggs were placed... More

Food is okay, nice quaint pub with a country feel, even though it is a hop and a jump from Bridgend town centre. Nice decor, with a wide selection of food choices. Have to say that on the occasions I have been, the customer service was not the best.On one occasion, I went when it was quiet , in the... More

A large group of us visited for Sunday lunch. The service was a little slow but the food when it arrived was very nice, nothing outstanding but perfectly acceptable pub food. I think what made me opt for 4 stars rather than an average 3, was the staff. Very helpful and very friendly.

Classic pub food. We had nice lunch on Thursday when it's not too busy. Food is okay-ish, lots of younger people are regular visitors. Nice decor. Lovely outdoor space. Service is a bit slow. Good value for money.

We stopped in the pheasant on Bank holiday Monday, it wasn't that busy so decided to have food. We ordered 2 mixed grills and settled down with a couple of drinks. after about 45 minutes we noticed that people had been served their food and left, so my husband asked what had happened to our order, they apparently lost the...
