My first visit to the lemon tree did not disappoint. OK the car park is a challenge to the less able drivers but that shouldn't detract from the dining experience. We were shown to our seats immediately even though we were 20 minutes early. Our chairs pulled out for us and a nice cold jug of water was placed in... More

We got a groupon deal for this place and the first impression was that the car park was appalling. We have an estate car and as the car park was full it took us a long time to inch round to turn back out of the car park because of the layout. There is also a very narrow passageway to... More

Booked a table for 6pm Sunday evening to celebrate granddaughter's birthday and starting at University, given a good table as requested but then it started to go downhill! We were first party in restaurant but had to wait to place our order for food. Starters were delicious but had taken around 30 minutes from when we arrived, plates not cleared... More

We were desperately trying to find accommodation 2 nights ago. Because of university starting, everything was totally booked between Chester...all the way to Shrewsbury! We stopped at the Lemon Tree to see if a room was available. A gentleman called Sam, in the reception area, spent about 15 minutes trying to help us find somewhere to stay the night. It... More

There are those among us of a certain vintage who will remember the words of a Trini Lopez song ' Lemon Tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet, but the fruit of the lemon is impossible to eat ' Well there was nothing impossible to eat last evening, it was delicious ,cooked to perfection, presented beautifully and served... Decided to have a traditional Sunday roast to save cooking at home. We were not disappointed. The beef was roasted to perfection and the portion was generous. It was not the cheapest meal I've had but you could say it was sweetened by the complimentary dessert.

Cracking steak night on a Thursday offer. Very generous no need for a starter as their massive steak is a real treat..had desert too but we were just being greedy if being honest and were stuffed by time we headed off. House red is perfect. Decent bottled ales. Service good but not fussy been before and will go back again.... More

Would not have visited restaurant without Groupon £40 offer (2 course meal for 2 and a bottle of wine). Glad we tried menu - starters tasty although small portion, main course looked and tasted delicious and a bigger portion (thank goodness). Have heard lunch time menu is reasonable and would like to try. Would visit again for special occasion
