Visited the restaurant twice during our stay in Betsw y Coed. The quality of the food is excellent. It is well presented, served by wonderful and helpful staff and has an extensive menu. We loved it.

Two of us had lunch here on a whim while driving by. The atmosphere was very nice with cosy rooms and eclectic décor. We ordered two different vegetarian main courses of four on offer. Unfortunately the service was poor, one meal was essentially inedible given the excess of oil and fat, the other was tasteless, and it all ended up... More

Booked early for Friday night evening meal 24th April 2015. This has to be one of the best meals we have had in Wales . Lovely atmosphere and service was top rate . The food was to die for . We had scallops and squid for starters and Lobster and Dover sole for main course . The price for Lobster... More

Part of the enjoyment of spending several weeks in North Wales every Springtime is eating at Ty Gwyn, it's always an occasion and the food is fabulous. One would normally be anxious when presented with a long list of dishes on a menu as the trend nowadays is to go minimalist and lump it! However, Martin's menu manages to be... More

This was our second visit for an evening meal. Booking is essential as it’s very popular at the weekends. We were as impressed as on our first visit and marvel at the fact that they can maintain the quality over such a varied menu. It’s a lovely old building, and perfect if you’re celebrating anything special.

I have been coming to Betws for over 30 years and, more often than not, try and eat at Ty Gwyn at least once during a visit. For our recent visit on 03 May 2015, we three intrepid fellows ate splendidly and all washed nicely with Rev James. Everything was very well presented and the service was excellent, as always.... We chose this restaurant based on the great reviews on tripadvisor, and I am pleased we went. The food was top class - I had the salt and chilli squid to start, which was some of the best squid Ive eaten. For the main I had the steak, which came with a lovely cheese and mushroom topping, steak cooked perfectly.... More

We stayed in Betws in October and went to the Bistro, which was good. However, decided to try Ty Gwyn as very close to our self catering accommodation this time. In the end, visited 3 times in the week and very good each time: choice, service, charming interiors, quality, portion size - they are quite busy so worth booking.

My cousin has booked us in as our grandparents loved the place many years ago so we decided to see what it was like. My expectations were blown away - the food was just simple wow. To start our table had the pate (me), crab st jaque and lamb steak .... we all tried each others and all liked everything... More

We first visited the Ty Gwyn in September of last year for a lunch time meal and enjoyed the whole experience so much that we vowed to return. Booked a table for Friday evening and once again enjoyed fantastic food and service. The starters of Aromatic Crispy Duck Confit, Spicy Thai Salad, Sweet Chilli, Soya & Sesame and the Pan... More
