Staying in the area for the weekend and after a lovely walk in a local beach we decided to try The Ship Inn because of reviews on Trip Advisor and it is dog friendly. We walked in at 6pm and were invited into the 'snug' with our two fur babies. Richard came and asked us if we'd like a menu... More

We called in for lunch on a quiet mid - week day, and were able to get a table opposite the splendid open fire that was roaring away. That and the view through the window out to the bay make this a unique pub. The beer - sorry, I can't remember what it was - the one on the right... More

Went with three friends as had heard good reviews. Booked beforehand but took ages to be seated, and get served. One person's meal arrived half hour before everyone else's, although we ordered together on the same tab and two others ordered the same. Food was very bland, the steak and ale pie was dry with hardly no meat and bisto-like... More

Really pretty traditional pub in a lovely setting. Big portions, fast service, cosy atmosphere. Dog and child friendly and great for walkers. Visited twice as has good walks and a small beach right outside

We stopped here after a long journey up to Anglesey for new year. They were very accommodating as it was busy. The food was nice but it's the location that really makes it special. A comfortable friendly pub.

We arrived on Boxing Day in a party of 18 with an age range of 6 months to 90 years. We had booked in advance, and had near sole occupancy of the family room. From the moment we walked in, the service was friendly and spectacularly good. We did not have to queue at the bar for drinks nor to... More

We lunched there on Boxing Day in the very small room for dog owners which we have to say was a very small airless room .However except the the pub offer this dog friendly environment .The service and attention was very good in all departments bar and restaurant area . The food and presentation leaves a lot to be desired... More

We have been regular visitors to the Ship for a number of years. On our last visit in company with family members. we chose to have lunch, which was a regrettable experience. The food served was of poor quality, with what appeared to be reheated chips and microwaved vegetables. The female bar staff were miserable with not so much as... More

I've been visiting this pub for 23 years. Fantastic location old school service, clean glasses excellent staff. Over the years I've seen a sign saying children and dogs must turn left into an often empty, not as cosy area. My children are 7 and 10 and well behaved. I assumed the sign was enforced when required. Yesterday at 4pm with... More

The Ship sits on Red Wharf Bay, one of the most picturesque sea side locations in North Wales and the pub itself looks full of old world charm from the outside but sadly lacks that very character inside. We wanted to like it, we really did and to give it a chance visited on two occasions in 2015 & 2016... More
