Had an evening meal here with my brother, preceded by drinks in the garden on a lovely summers evening. Interesting choice of menu (I had the veggie special - broad bean, pea and spinach burger - very good). Restaurant is spacious and airy with lots of windows. Service excellent, food ditto. Would definitely use again.

Found it hard to find somewhere to eat with the dog and we were allowed the dog in the bar area but the bar area was really lovely and felt just like the restaurant! It was cosy and the staff were very attentive and friendly! Food was good, big portions and tasty!

The visit was for a romantic 33rd wedding anniversary and they did not disappoint. Most of the tables are close to windows looking out over gardens. The menu was original with an emphasis on local produce. For starters I had chilli dusted whitebait and my partner, duck liver, both delicious. And so it carried on. Service was efficient and relaxed... More

Stopped here for lunch on our way to a few days in South Wales. A lovely meal, enjoyed by both myself and my husband. Staff very helpful. A lovely pub restaurant, if good weather a lovely garden to sit in. Would strongly recommend for a lovely meal.

This was one of the restaurants recommended by the B&B we were staying at. It was not too expensive and the food was well cooked and the staff friendly

If you are travelling to Wales and you want a scenic route; like not all motorway......... go via the A40 from Chepstow. A beautiful journey through the Brecon Beacon National Park. If you time it right you could have lunch at Plas Derwen in Abergavenny. Brilliant place, I had possibly the best sirloin steak I've ever had in the UK.... More

This is a pleasant, relaxed place for lunch. It has two courses for a set price. I had risotto with butternut squash and olives which was a nice change for a vegetarian. There was an option to add meat. Pub favourites for some, such as sausage and mash are available. Service is good.

I like this pub and as it is within walking distance of my house you would think i'd come here more often!! I've been here 5 or 6 times the last month which is more than the amount of times I've been over 7 years but it really is a nice bright sunny large pub and restaurant. The "conservatory" glass... Food ok but nothing special. Service terrible, took half hour to place order then once we had finished and wanted to order dessert over half hour. I had to order the bill with the dessert and still had to go to the till and just stand there until they decided to serve me. The restaurant was not full at all.... More
