Nice pub Sunday lunch with a good atmosphere and a good choice of ale. Food was nicely cooked with lots of variety on the veggies. Will go again.

Stopped here for a drink after a walk with our two dogs, stayed in garden and the pub dog wouldn't stop humping my dogs, no staff around to supervise the dog I had to drag it off myself, I am a dog lover but this really upset my dog understandably! Didn't even finish my drink! Wouldn't return or recommend.

Lovely, friendly pub. We were met on the driveway, at the end of our long walk, by one of the resident dogs, Sam. He ushered us into the comfortable, quiet bar, where we enjoyed a sandwich and a croque monsieur, both made with high-quality ingredients. Excellent choice of beers, too. And when Sam begs, he does it very discreetly.....

Definitely a locals pub and had a good choice of real ales and whisky. The bloke behind the bar was friendly and it had an open fire. We had the pleasure of meeting some random woman who was very insistent we go on twitter and look at some cover up story - very strange. Put us in mind of the... More

14 of us went for Sunday lunch, staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent and they went out of their way to cater for individuals who had special dietary requirements. The service was generally very good but a bit slow at times, this however did not detract from what was a very enjoyable afternoon. It was very good... More

We were booked in for 7pm but weren't seated until 8pm and didn't get the food until 8.10pm. That being said, the lamb I had was beautiful and worth the wait. My other half had a steak and it was a fairly average steak. Reasonable price, wine was good. Wouldn't go again because I get hangry and am not good... More

Called in here on Wednesday 5th Otober on the hope it may be open at lunch-time (several local pubs don't seem to be). A great welcome - even for the dog - and a very good choice of beers - gave us the energy for the walk back to Chain Bridge!

This pub is 6 miles from Abergavenny & 2 miles from Raglan. This is the current 2016, Gwent Camra country pub of the year & has been run by Andrew & Bev for the last 25 yrs. It has a big grassed lawn / beer garden at the front of the pub, with a few table & benches. A variety... More

This was one of the worst meals I've ever had- raw chicken goujons, inedible fish and chips (the batter was like a soggy bread), undercooked oily chips and burnt faggots with watery gravy. Utterly appalling. We had to ask for the raw chicken to be axed from our bill. It's a pity, it seems like a pleasant, traditional pub with... More
