Myself and normally 8 cousins get together twice a year to caught up as we are all scattered around the area, we always go to The Crown in the summer and Junction 28 at Bassaleg in the winter. I have to say the food at The Crown is exceptional, they cater for everyone needs and is cooked to a very... More

I dropped into the Crown for a drink and some food last night. The pub is dog friendly (outside and bar areas only I think) and my dog got a warm welcome. There is a selection of real ales, and the one I ordered was well kept and tasted really nice. The food was also very nice (garlic mushrooms and... More

Travelled up to meet friends at The Crown We found this little gem about a year ago and meet our friends every few months. The food and service are excellent.Nothing is too much trouble. Service is efficient but in no way intrusive. In fact I believe Sherrie could teach Alex Polizzy a thing or too.We shall continue to use this... More

I have holidayed with my family in the area for the past 4 years and I've made the Crown Inn my local on each of those years. I have never eaten at the pub but understand that the food is excellent. I just stop off for a pint or two of real ale and a seat outside in the beer... More

The Crown has always been a very good pub, welcoming walkers and cyclists and it is some time since we stopped there to eat rather than just rely on the quality of the beer, usually Wye Valley HPA. But today had lunch there and had forgotten how good it can be, Many thanks.

What a gem tucked away in the Welsh hills of Abergavenny! Lovely friendly welcome, nothing was too much trouble and the food was great.. best pudding I've ever had!(Lemon pannacotta). Would cross the Severn Bridge again just to savour it once more.

Visited here for the first time in a few years and was impressed. Dined on a busy Saturday night with the menu and service both very good. The range of hand pulled beers is extensive and the wine list sensibly priced. Lovely atmosphere in the bar and a warm welcome by people who genuinely care for their clientele. We will... More

We stayed at Sugar Loaf Barn, a mile or so away from this pub, and had 2 excellent evening meals there. Others in the party also had lunches and just drinks. We were always made to feel very welcome - and so was the dog!(but if you are not a dog lover be reassured there are places dogs are not... More

This is a lovely country pub with great food and lovely ales. Visited here in August 2014 whilst on holiday and loved it. Good pub food done to a high standard. I must also bring note to the bread and butter pudding, which was probably one of the best we've tried. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The double dragon... More

My wife and I had dinner and were delighted with the welcome. Food was excellent from a well designed menu...cooked superbly and served with quiet and friendly efficiency. I must say without question one of the best gastro pub meals we have had. Should also mention...safer to book ..even midweek.
