Was looking forward to eating here last Saturday, as I had done some investigation, and thought that the Mount Inn would be a great choice. I'm not going to go into all the details , as it will bore, but safe to say, we sat, waiting to order our food , without success for 30 minutes. It wasn't really the... More

Last reviewed this place in 2011. Have visited several times since, as the location & view appeals to friends & family who visit. But the service remains lacklustre. Expect to wait AGES for food & bar service. The Car Park exit is a DISGRACE !! Expensive (exhaust) damage to our 1955 Classic, - despite going VERY slowly & carefully. What... More

My wife and I stopped here a couple of times for lunch during a week's walking holiday in the Cotswolds. Found the freshly prepared food, the service and the ambiance excellent. Great views and well the trudge up the hill. Will return here if back in this neck of the woods. All in all a great little inn in a... More

Always a friendly welcome, good quality food with excellent service. Best to book in the summer when you can dine outside in the adjacent garden. Scotch Duck Eggs are the best.

Superb location but the Donnington beer is truly awful ! Avoided the pub for a year since my last visit where again the beer was poor. Visited last night the SBA was undrinkable, replaced with BB which was grim as well. A large group of us left in disgust and went elsewhere. Real shame given the location of the pub... More

Set in a traditional Cotswold village and hills with wonderful far reaching views. Sit on the terrace if the sun shines. Our lunch was seabass with a seafood sauce, vine tomatoes, new potatoes and green beans. Fish was beautifully cooked and delicate. We both enjoyed the meal. Service was friendly. This was our first visit- looking at others reviews we... More

Visited this pub for lunch a few weeks ago when staying for the weekend in a nearby village. Pub itself is lovely, beautiful views and nice outdoor seating area. However the food was a huge disappointment-'quantity over quality'. I had the veggie 'burger'-(please note this is not a burger- literally a few layers of onion/mushroom and cheese in a bun)... Chris our tour guide stopped here for us to have lunch. The view overlooking the towns and villages below are breathtaking. We had fish and chips and bangers and mash. Pip, a friend of chris' was expecting us and had a table waiting. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was so charming. Thoroughly loved our visit here.

Disappointed with the service on our first visit, we decided to give The Mount another try. This time, although the service had improved, it was the food which let it down. Three of us found it acceptable, but not great: I found my haddock and chips fairly unpalatable. My advice is to go for a drink and/or snack at lunchtime,... More

called in for Sunday lunch and the staff were very accommodating as we turned up an hour before our booking. Instead of opting for the Sunday lunch (which looks just as delicious as when we visited last) we went for a change and ordered the sausage ring with cheesy mash and the fish and chips. We were not disappointed at... More
