I loved the idea of French dishes reinterpreted, like the creme brulee de fois gras, served in a cup of coffee. The choice of wine was great, and perfectly matching our food. Just a bit too long the service, but the ambience is nice and elegant. Total for 2 starters and 2 mains + wine: 74£

Lovely romantic french restaurant. We had a fab meal here and it was very reasonably priced for the quality of food. Gets very busy so be sure to book.

My wife and I visited here on her birthday and we had a very good evening. Empty when we got there at 18.30, but it soon filled up. Warm welcome from the two hard working and friendly staff. Interesting menu with a mixture of classical French dishes and slightly more unusual offerings. Food arrived promptly and can only be described... More

As many people have said this is a great independent restaurant and we are so glad we found it. Food and service were impeccable and reasonably priced . Avoid the chains and eat here you will not be disappointed.

Staying at the Castle ( hotel that is not with the Queen) just up the road we wandered down the street out of mild interest and came across this place, it was a Friday and we popped in to book with very few people in so thought nothing more of it. Arriving at the appointed time we were well greeted... More

We had not been here since it changed hands. Good wine well priced, good menu both starters and mains, we did not have a desert. Sensible prices, all well cooked and served. A pleasant ambience and well laid out tables etc. It is now on my list of regular venues. Good staff who are attentive without being in the way.

This small independent restaurant, staff and chef still very much deserve top marks. My partner and I have visited (Cornucopia) and La Russe for the last five years and every visit has been very good. Would recommend without question

I'm not a fan of big chain restaurants so was pleased to visit this independent (based on Trip Advisor feedback). This restaurant is well worth a visit: great food and service.

French bistro with delicious food (and good value) but a little hard to find due to few street numbers. After touring the Castle turn left on Hight Street and travel past a big old church. You will see in it on the right side of the street. The squash soup, Russian ravioli and grilled fish were delicious! It is a... More
