Friday night, getting late and hadn't booked anywhere for dinner. This Fullers pub was close to our hotel (it's on the market square, so easy to find) and had a table available. We arrived half hour early, expecting to sit in the bar for a pre-dinner drink but the table was free so we went straight up to the first floor dining room. Decent pub grub menu; we've eaten before in a Fullers pub but the menu although similar had different options (unsure if it's down to season or location). Food arrived as ordered and with a smile. Good music playing in background; not too loud so you could chat but not so soft that you couldn't hear what was playing. Went back the following lunchtime for a drink as we had time to kill before catching a train, and the barman remembered us and had a chat.

We stumbled upon The Ox Row on a day trip from London to visit Stonehenge. Our bus from the stones dropped us off in front of a little market where we found restaurants patio entrance. We asked for a table for two and our host said “you’re in for a treat today” - he was right! Finding this gem was a highlight of our entire trip, Dave made us feel right at home and gave us some great advice for dining options at various other points in our trip. The food was amazing, I had the Venison Bourguignon and my friend had the Lamb’s Shepherd’s pie. Best meal we had over the course of our entire week in the UK. The atmosphere was incomparable to any other place we visited and the little town has so much charm. Dave was so incredibly kind and even helped us cross off “try Yorkshire pudding” on our UK bucket list. I would make a special trip back to The Ox Row the next time I’m in England, and would love to stay at the Inn. This is a must try restaurant, tell all your friends.

“Had a fantastic experience dining at this restaurant! The fish and chips were perfectly crispy, and the sauce added a delightful kick. The ambiance was elevated by great music, setting a relaxed yet lively atmosphere. The service was truly exceptional – attentive and friendly without being intrusive. It’s refreshing to see such a high standard in both food and hospitality. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a classic British meal done right!”

Overall a below average experience at this pub from start to finish. Arrived at 11:30 and were given food menus, we subsequently tried to order lunch just a few minutes later only to then be told we couldn’t place an order for another half an hour. Understandable to have start times yet not being informed when given the menu was a little lack lustre. After waiting we then ordered at 12:00, only then being told that some of the dishes we wanted were not available, again this was not relayed when we initially arrived. So before we even successfully ordered we were already feeling irritated and it really does set the tone. The food arrived in a fairly timely manner, however the prawns were caked in roe in places. When mentioning this we were told that they arrive cleaned, that may we be the case that cleaned prawns are ordered, but surely a visual check on the stock being received and plated is made? Why did a chef and then a waiter plate and deliver the food in when it looked so utterly unappealing, staff have to be vocal and refuse food when it’s not up to standard, they can’t be complacent like this.

Well, how can 6 pieces of ravioli be a main meal? Yes, that's what we got when we asked if the ravioli starter could be made up to a main. Of course came the reply, we'll double up, so for ÂŁ16.50 we got 6 parcels of ravioli & 10 nasturtium leave - that doesn't even constitute a side salad! When discussing this with the manager we were told " that's what you get, you can speak to the chef if you like" I have to say, chef is a bit strong, cook would be pushing it! How could anybody consider this a meal, they should have been too embarrassed to serve it. Of course they could also have said NO we're not competent enough to change a starter in to a main.

Absolutely amazing food. We’re often disappointed when eating out as we’re chefs ourselves but this was pleasantly delicious. We came as a party of 12 everyone ordered different dishes but all were superb. I had the steak which was cooked perfectly to medium rare decorated with a quadrillage and the chips were cooked well (if you can’t get chips right, there’s no hope!) we had a Italian sharing board for starters and the arancini was great. All meals were piping hot, well presented and nicely seasoned. Not fine dining but definitely good food, cooked by chefs that care.

Nice pub with friendly bar staff. However, the prices seem pretty excessive even by today's over inflated cost of living standards. The meal we had today was quite nice but not exceptional. Chef's special Shepherd Pie at ÂŁ23.50 and Chicken Ham pie at ÂŁ17.50. Both meals were average in size and accompanied only by a small pile of cabbage and a small pot of gravy. Nothing more. It seems, therefore, hard to justify value for money.

We saw the roast silverside beef on the board, advertised as perfectly pink, it was not! We ate at around one pm and somehow everything was dried up, the beef was overcooked, the Yorkshire pudding was so crunchy it shattered when trying to put our forks in, and the parsnips were just plain burnt ! For £20 a head we expected better than this, what we got instead of a treat out was a mediocre, lack lustre plate full of singed offerings! The service was good though, I’m guessing they had to get it out of the kitchen swiftly before the smoke alarms went off!

It's amazing to me how much a sign could make a difference when picking this place to eat. I'm not sure if the staff deliberately choose not to let potential customers know that they also serve food upstairs or if they just think everyone automatically knows that this is the case by mind power alone. Myself and two friends stopped here for dinner on an early Saturday evening a few weeks ago. After standing at the bottom of the stairs waiting by the sign for someone to ask if we wanted to eat, we decided to take a look upstairs ourselves where we discovered the area was practically empty and two staff members who were having a good old chat about their lives. After waiting for them to finish their chat, we asked if they were serving food and if we could take a seat. I feel the only reason this place wasn't busy upstairs is because of the unfriendly feeling people get from the front of house staff and the misunderstanding that there is also another floor where you can relax and order your food despite it being busy downstairs. The food is really good and well worth the money, I think with a little tweek here and there, this would be a great place to stop

We stopped here for lunch on Saturday. What a fabulous place, great service, decent menu and good value. The portion sizes were good and seating comfortable and although it was busy we didn't feel rushed and the staff were still polite and chatty. A nice meal (sweet potato tagine was fab!) and great way to break up our day in Salisbury.

We came here as a large group. We had to ask for more than one drinks menu and a wine menu. 20 minutes of being sat with the staff doing nothing , we had to ask for food menus. When we did order the food , the special was gone , which I understand, as specials are always popular. However my friend wanted a plant based meal, that was also off the menu, my sister wanted a side of onion rings and was told they were off the menu but you can have them if you order the pork chop! The white wine was not cold and when we asked for a cold one we got one that was already opened! Then to dessert, the crumble was off the menu so my dad chose vanilla ice cream, only to be served the wrong thing. The waitress albeit friendly was too interested in standing at the counter messing about with a young male member of staff. When we went to pay the bill she told us we hadn’t paid enough despite knowing we had . She then went away to check only to come back and tell us there had been 10 vodka shots added to our bill by accident . Completely appalling service , the food that was available was nice but this is a chain pub so how on Earth they had so little items available is beyond me. I would not recommend this place unless they got new staff and sorted out the lack of items available!

I took my mum here to lunch, I think it was the manager that showed us to our table and recommended the lovely baked fish dish, which we both had. All of the staff were lovely and friendly and the ambience and decoration was beautiful. yes it’s not the cheapest place to eat, but I believe you get what you pay for.

It’s much better than a pub! Cozy atmosphere, pleasant and professional service. There are plenty of typically English dishes to discover, accompanied by beers or ciders. As for the price: well, when you see the price of certain places where you get bad industrial pizza, well, frankly, here, it's really good. The decoration is very tasteful. This place makes you want to come back in any season. Friendly atmosphere. There is something that makes you feel good there. Do not miss.

My wife and I decided to go for a Sunday roast at short notice and we went into The Ox Row Inn at Salisbury and to say we were impressed would be an understatement. The whole experience from start to finish was 5 stars, highlights was the atmosphere, the food and the service. The food itself was so fresh, hot, flavoursome, good variety of vegetables and overall amount. As I said the service was brilliant, Paris was our host and she was superb. It was the first time we have eaten there, just had drinks before but we will be back again for a meal. Highly recommended.
