This cafe is terrible. You have to walk through the sweet shop which looks like an abandoned dirty spare room, in order to go upstairs to a scruffy and dirty little room. The cutlery is odd, the tea pot was broken. The food was clearly bought in and the service was shocking. No interactions with customers! Really slow and extremely... More

How does a place this bad survive on this prestigious terrace of exclusivity? This dull & soulless café is situated above a sweet shop on the main promenade in Ilkley town centre. Entry is made through the equally run down & unwelcoming sweet shop on the ground floor. It soon becomes clear that both are under the same ownership. I... More

visited here recently after a long walk on the moors and actually had a nice time, contrary to what some of these reviews have said I found the staff to be very polite and welcoming. as for the cleanliness of the place; one of the tables still had plates on it but both members of staff were busy serving customers... Awful experience and would not go back or recommend! The staff are miserable and not welcoming! The door was left open and it was cold upstairs. The staff never checked if our meals are okay or cleared the plates away. We had to go searching for the bill as no staff were in the café for a good 15 minutes,... More

Visited here with my boyfriend after we'd seen the shop from the outside. The menu outside looked good and it seemed like a nice little cafe. We walked up the stairs to a tiny room crammed with table and chairs. We sat down and had to clear the table ourselves as there was noone around, moving the dirty plates onto... More

i had stayed for 1 night at a nice local hotel, but I thought I would check out the local cafe for a delicious full English breakfast instead of a buffet style offered at the hotel. It was a beautiful sunny morning so the outside seating area was appealing, I wasn't concerned that there was no one else sitting there.... More

Coffee tasted unpleasant, more like weak tea. Wifes cup had stains from previous customer. Cafe manager accused me of having strange tastes. My wife was told she should ask for another cup. We walked out to yet further insults from manager. Stay clear of this place or risk insults and unpleasent drinks.

Went here for lunch and as others have said, the lack of cleanliness is its biggest negative. The food was average, although one guest's soup was declared as very good. With just a good clean and a little more effort this place could be a goldmine for its owners, given its prime position.

Just had to walk out of this place, sat for 5 minutes without being acknowledged or even offered a menu which given that it wasn't that busy was surprising. Worst part was the toilets, my wife paid a visit and immediately wanted to leave - they were filthy and disgusting. Shame as it could be nice if a bit a... More
