Chanced upon buffers after visiting friends nearby and decided to have a bite of lunch. Very reasonably priced - egg and chips plus for my good lady plus a super mushroom omelette for myself. Can't fault the service - and a very reasonable £16 for both meals and 2 pints of shandy. If I were local I'd virtually live there!... More

Visited on a Friday afternoon and it was busy. But, a big pub so there was plenty of space. The menu is typical pub grub, but very good value and choice. I went for the hot roast pork sandwich and my better half the open sandwich with poached egg, bacon and chicken. Food was obviously freshly made, hot and generous portions.... More

I am a local, and I would love to use the buffers a lot more. There seems to be loads of effort put in, but the execution doesn't live up to the promise. They have great entertainment at least once a month, however the welcome doesn't feel sincere, I have eaten there before and the food isn't bad, but they... More

We went on a Friday lunchtime, not busy when we arrived but soon started to fill up. The serving staff were very welcoming and friendly. I ordered the fish and chips which were very good the chips are real potatoes and chunky, was a bit worried they wouldn't be cooked through but they were and were excellent. Unfortunately I couldn't... More

Stopped here on our travels for some lunch, they seated us straight away on a busy day, service was good & prompt, menu was plenty to choose from. I opted for Sunday lunch, veg was lovely but meat & potato tasted like it was warmed up. Very much a working mans club feel.

We called here for lunch for the first time and will certainly be returning and to try for dinner too. We thought lunch was excellent value but more importantly home-cooked and full of flavour. My partner chose the steak pie which was packed with tasty chunks of beef in lovely gravy. He had mash (real stuff even with the odd... More

I am in love with this lovely village pub! The food is amazing and truly home cooked not home microwaved which is rare in this day and age! The place is so friendly and the staff couldn't do enough for us. It took me forever to decide what to eat and if there was a choice of it all I... More

Had been told that the pub was a good place to have Sunday lunch and that the beef was good. We booked a table for two the day before and arrived at 2.30pm on Sunday. The staff were very friendly and we're able to change our table for us as the sun was too hot through the window where we... More

Visited here today, early evening, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, I had the seafood linguine which was lovely, my daughter had a burger and my partner had the gammon steak which was beautiful, a really nice laid back setting too! Really recommend it!
