Return visit with (adult) family. Booked a few days prior using the on line facility. Easy to use as usual. At busy times I feel the restaurant could make it easier for pre-booked diners to avoid the queue at the door. Good service at the table for drinks etc. Self service carvery with chef carving a choice of meats and... More

It's true what they say about never going back and it bringing disappointment. We relocated to Sunderland a couple of years ago but this used to be our regular weekend breakfast haunt. It was never going to get a Michelin star but the food was well cooked and tasty and it was a value for money experience. Today was a... More

Went here for Sunday lunch with friends and it was truly awful! I would give higher marks for service but the food is appalling. If you don't like carvery your only other option is chicken salad. One of our friends ordered this and got a completely dry piece of chicken - almost inedible. My husband doesn't like carvery but didn't... More

Me and my visited here beginning of September whilst in the area , it was a mid afternoon on a Wednesday , the customer service is very good and friendly , but unfortunately the carvery was luke warm and tasteless and the surroundings inside this establishment are dated . Would not recommend this establishment unless you like luke warm bland... More

We went here for Sunday lunch and enjoyed the food but was too busy, I know this isn't the fault of the pub but we waited for a table then stood in a queue for around 15 minutes. The food was very nice and I found the staff friendly enough but with it being so busy it was too hot... More

On the way to the airport we decided to have a cooked breakfast. We have always been impressed with this Carvery so we arrived at 08:05 (it opens at 08:00), but one of the breakfast items wasn't available until 08:25. The quality of the food was good and very tasty. What shocked us the most was the coffee which cost£1.99,... More

Never again! It was exactly the same as a normal Sunday lunch, huge queues, cold hard yorkshire puddings, went to wait 20 mins in queue and came back to eat and other diners had nicked our cutlery!! The starter was thrown together, all in all £71.95 for a disaster, I will never go again!!!

Good food at an excellent price. If you go anytime except Sunday lunchtime you will find its less crowded and little queuing.

Great for a lazy Sunday tea, worth upping the stakes to a mega plate for extra meat. Also do a great breakfast. Rated down as they were out of two types of meat on my most recent visit which was very disappointing.
