I have visited Wellies many times for breakfast, but when family recently visited from the USA, we went for afternoon tea. The service was excellent, and we were really well looked after. The selection of sandwiches was varied and tasty; homemade marshmallows and cakes went down a treat, paricularly the homemade carrot cake, chocolate cake and coconut flapjacks. As for... More

I vowed never to return to Wellies after a very disappointing lunch some time ago. I did however notice that it was under new management so decided to give it a try. We sat on the delightful terrace, although some screening eg trellis or trees from the car park would improve the setting. We had the veggie quiche and salad.... More

Hi Jackie, Thank you for your review and feedback and suggestions. I am disappointed that you did not get your chutney, a training issue I will address with the staff. It is obviously not on our main menu, so the waitress might not have realised that we do have some. Our boards do get put through the dishwasher, which is... More

This is now the third visit and I am yet to experience a warm welcome!! On our arrival there was a large table on the right obviously in for breakfast, we were told we could have a drink but the female almost suggested that we wasting our time if we thought we might eat, Hence the fact.....we left very disappointed.... Hi Gary, Thank you for your feedback, your visit yesterday does sound very disappointing, from both our points of view. We have been working on our people skills, but obviously from your experience yesterday we still have work to do. We will continue to work on how we welcome and interact with our customers, and I hope that if you... More

We stopped here on a bike ride, pleasant little find! Staff were friendly and helpful, we only had iced coffees (amazing!) and ice cream (lush!). Would go again!

With new name and very welcoming new ownership Wellies is much improved. The menu is not huge but what we had was tasty and plentiful. The salads are homemade and much better than standard lettuce and tomato. It is slightly expensive but no more so than other local cafes.

Lovely tables outside on a sunny day but compared to Driftwood Cafe in Emsworth for a similar experience very highly priced we felt. Very nice food, ie grated beetroot with mint, Tabbouleh with dried cranberries etc very original and tasty, the quiche a bit "eggy" rather than creamy with pastry to die for. Drinks fairly expensive given it's an ordinary... More
