Our last dinner out before the latest lockdown ! We spent Christmas Day with family at Purchases for the first time. It was fantastic !! Even with COVID going on the staff made our day safe and splendid ! we can’t wait to come back...once this lockdown is all over for a lovely relaxing dinner ! A quiet Christmas Day due to Covid my husband and I booked Purchases for our Christmas lunch. What a treat... we arrived to be shown directly to our table in the garden room..... masks in place we were led through the festive twinkling garden to...our table nicely placed apart from other guests and waited on in a relaxed and comfortable manner by staff and the owners. Delicious cocktails and a superb lobster ravioli followed by the loveliest roast turkey lunch... we relaxed between courses overlooking the garden, festive lights and splashes of red carpet and throws, so cosy. Yummy Christmas pud and cheese and biscuits followed with coffee and wine. Quite a change from the usual Christmas chaos at home .... hum will think about booking for the whole family next year.More

Recently visited Purchases and had such an amazing experience I felt I had to share!! A stunning restaurant with a calm and professional atmosphere. The food was faultless and would definitely recommend the Sautéed Duck breast! The manager Danny had an excellent knowledge of the...wines and recommended the perfect wine for our meal. The waitresses were all very friendly and attentive. Felt extremely safe and will be returning!More

Had a lovely meal just before Christmas, the food is always great and it was no different on this occasion. The Covid measures were good, very tasteful dividers between tables. Despite nearly being blinded by the brightness of the maitre'd waistcoat it was a great...evening, really nice to go back and looking forward to returning againMore

The food itself was nice but I will never return. A group was seated next to me, less than two feet away. We could nearly bump elbows. I politely mentioned it felt a little too close (plenty of other tables available) and the staff were...a mixture of annoyed and confused. I had to ask to be moved to another table. The owner/manager muttered under his breath that the seating was perfectly fine. I won't support this business and their shoddy attitude towards their customers.More

We booked to go as it was our third wedding anniversary and we could not fault it. We were made to feel welcome and it wasn’t snooty at all. Staff were very attentive but not too fussy with us. Thoroughly enjoyable meal and although a...bit pricey was well worth it and will be returning.More

We were heartily impressed with our delicious lunch at Purchases! We ate in an outside seating area which was elegant and cosy, decorated to perfection with twinkling lights and a beautiful Christmas tree. I had the risotto which was a triumph of stunning green flavours,...and my family had salads from the light menu which they described as "fresh and filling", certainly not skimping on the salmon! We followed this with an exquisite Christmas pudding, just right for warming up the end of a difficult year. The staff were friendly and professional, special shout out to Marco and Jess who took every precaution within the current restrictions to keep us safe whilst ensuring we had a wonderful time. Thank you Purchases! I think you may have to be our new Christmas tradition!More
