La Campania is a popular and authentic Italian restaurant conveniently and centrally located at the corner of the busy High Street and Tarrant Street in the picturesque medieval market town of Arundel. We reserved a table @ 19h30 on Tuesday, 29th September and on arrival the restaurant was already quite busy. So, a table reservation is recommended. We were warmly greeted and immediately escorted to our table. The food and drinks menus were comprehensive and clearly catered for every taste. Both my wife and myself ordered the Pollo alla Milanese (without the Spaghetti) but with the Roasted New Potatoes from the mains menu. For dessert, a selection of ice creams. To drink, a bottle of Allamand Pinot Grigio. To finish, we both had a double espresso. The bill (including gratuity) was, in our view, a reasonable ÂŁ70.00 - considering the quality of food, friendly and attentive service (not rushed) and excellent atmosphere and surroundings. We would definitely recommend La Campania

Cosy Italian restaurant with extensive menu located in the heart of one of the most beautiful and renowned towns in West Sussex. We had lunch at La Campania without reading any previous reviews and our experience was great. The restaurant has been designed to a high standard and is very well managed with a friendly and attentive staff. We did not book but they managed to find us a table in a busy Saturday. Tracking system and social distancing arrangements are in place to ensure safety of guests and staff. Food is freshly prepared and well presented. Our mussels in white wine and garlic cream and moscardini in umido i.e. pan fried and stewed baby octopus in tomato sauce were super like the spaghetti alla marinara. We completed our Italian lunch with a proper espresso macchiato and limoncello. As a plus, prices are very reasonable for an Italian restaurant considering the quality of the food and the prime location. Highly recommended!

Visit here frequently for lunch and dinner as a couple and with children. The food is fantastic. We have never had a bad meal here and they are always very accommodating with regards to amending dishes to suit. BUT what always stands out are the staff. Without exception they are amazing. Always great service and a great welcome. Special mentions for Dani and Jo the managers and Monica and Simi. They really make the place and are why we always go back and always love it!

First visit for a birthday meal. We were made to feel very welcome by lovely attentive staff. Huge portions of fresh and delicious food. Excellent value for money re quality and price. Very nice wine. Relaxed atmosphere. Service was attentive without being intrusive. At the end they found out it was a birthday visit and swiftly rustled up a complimentary tiramisu with a candle in it. Thank you for a very positive first impression. We’ll definitely be back.

Neither husband nor I are too keen on Italian food but this restaurant is immediately opposite the Norfolk Arms where we were staying whose restaurant was closed that evening. Had two English dishes served quite quickly considering we had the last free table. Very pleasant staff and would certainly book again if we were in the area.

We couldn’t fault the welcome at this long established Arundel Italian set in a historic timbres building in the High Street. Not the antipasto starter which was a generous selection of different hams and salamis plus slices of cheese, salad and even dried tomato artichoke with a bread basket on the side. It was certainly arrived very quickly after our order. My prawn and salmon risotto was a satisfying main dish but the other mains ordered were disappointing. Particularly a chicken salvatore orders but my wife whose meat was rather tasteless (perhaps it needed a sauce but at £3,50 extra this seemed a bit steep) and served with (bizarrely) roast new potatoes which were simply unpleasant in both taste and texture. My daughter’s tagliatelle with meatballs proved overwhelming but not in a positive sense.

We were a party of 17 on Saturday night for my Aunts 60 th birthday . We had all preordered , some had 2 courses. We didn’t have to wait long for the starters which were all good, I had garlic prawns, lovely. The waitress had to put up with us paying for drinks in couples as we all find the bill at the end annoying. It would be easier if they a facility on the till to set up separate bills for this. Anyway it all went smoothly. Main courses came out promptly and were all very nice. My mussels with a garlic tomato sauce were super. We had brought a birthday cake with us which the staff presented to my Aunt with a cheerful rendition of Happy Birthday. Thank you to our waitress for A lovely evening.

Booked a table here for lunch on the way to the Hilton nearby , didn't know anything about it but it was one of my better decisions. I'm not going to go on too much but its a nice ambience, you can see and hear the kitchen. I had the most amazing grilled sardines to start, followed by whole seabream on Mediterranean veg and potatoes and it was delicious and also generous portions which being a big eater pleased me immensely. My girlfriend had bruscietta followed by a seafood gnocchi which I was more than happy to help her finish. The staff were very friendly and it never felt rushed. It was around ÂŁ80 for 3 courses and a couple of glasses of wine, which I thought was good value. The only downside was the card machine didn't offer the option to include a tip and I didn't have cash on me so I felt a bit mean. Would definitely go again and if you fancy a decent lunch in Arundel I would recommend it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The spaghetti carbonara was the tastiest I've had in years! Everything was fresh and tasty. The staff were friendly and professional. It was a very busy evening and the staff worked hard to ensure clients were attended to.I enjoyed a hugo cocktail and banoffee cheesecake. My husband enjoyed an amazing cheeseboard and the staff kindly confirmed the selection of cheeses when we asked about them.it was a lovely atmosphere and was very comfortable. There was a family celebrating a birthday and the staff brought a little cake with a candle and sang happy birthday which was a lovely thought. We would definitely visit again and would highly recommend this little gem!

Great Italian restaurant, recommended to us by our B&B Host. We were sure to take up the recommendation of booking a table for their steak night(Thursdays). It was a two course menu (ÂŁ19.99) plus a supplement if you opted for the 14oz t-bone. I went for the t-bone with the garlic sauce and wow it didn't disappoint! Great food, good service and friendly staff - I can see why this restaurant is booked out! We will definitely be coming back. Remember to book in advance! We will

We made a last minute booking for the restaurant for Sunday evening. The owner I believe advised us we'd have to be out in 1h 30m which is no problem as we were simply looking for food as opposed to making an evening of the meal. Starters and food options were spot on. We had a starter each and shared a pizza and bottle of wine. The service was excellent and they made us feel very welcome and not rushed at all. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for the dining experience.

Four friends - a 70th birthday - and the best Italian meal I have had for a very long time! We all enjoyed the excellent food, ambience and attention. The complimentary slice of tiramisu (but big enough for 4 with 4 spoons) with a candle was so unexpected and kind. The menu offered a large choice and a 2 or 3 course meal at an amazing price. Would highly recommend and am definitely going back!

3 of us had dinner at the Italian restaurant. The staff were very helpful - I had mules followed by a gluten, dairy free pasta which I asked for some vegan cheese on to improve. They melted some cheese onto it to make a delicious dish! My partner had not a very interesting veggie dish and his son had a chicken and spaghetti dish, which was good, however his side dish of veggies were of disappointing quality and quantity

Ate here for dinner and could not fault the quality of food, service and the price. We both shared the Antipasto Italiano meat dish with a couple of Peroni's. For the mains my wife had the Piccante Pizza and I chose the Linguini alla Verdure. I asked the waitress if I could have extra garlic, pine nuts and it slightly enraged with chilli. This was not a problem or inconvenience! The food was delicious and we ordered a bottle of house red to compliment the meal. Over all we both were very impressed and could not believe the price so will hopefully visit La Campania again in the near future. Thank you

A cheery welcome and promptly seated with water and drinks arriving quickly. The garlic bread arrived burnt, but we were so hungry we dived in and ate it, it was ok, but you could mostly taste burnt garlic. The mains were a disappointment with poor quality meat and very obviously burnt (think cremated) potatoes. The waitress was good when it was pointed out, and having turned down the offer of more potatoes, we were offered a free desert. The deserts were average with the pastry of the profiteroles was very chewy, I suspect they were not freshly made in the kitchen and certainly not worth the £7 price tag per desert. When the bill arrived, the cost of the desert had been removed, but to my amazement, in excess of £15 service charge had been included. When I asked for the service charge to be removed, the waitress was downright rude. I don’t mind paying a tip, but for the service to be worth a tip of over £15, I would have expected the burnt garlic bread and the cremated potatoes to have been addressed before either plate reached the table. I am sure some people have a nice meal, but sadly we didn’t and based upon our experience, we could recommend the restaurant to others.
