Menu ok but nothing particularly interesting. potato gratin was undercooked, under seasoned and underwhelming. No veg or greenery with fish dish. We didn't bother with desserts Wine list on the other hand was interesting. Prices high across-the-board. Service good. £260 for 4 starters, mains, mint teas. 3 cocktails and a bottle of wine.

We were invited to a private dinner and wine tasting by our great friends Jason and Daali Whoura. The meal started with tandoori quail, followed by fillet of venison and then a special dark chocolat tart. Wines were provided by Penfold and they even parted with several bottles of The Grange. We have always enjoyed Opus whether for business lunches,... More

A quality restaurant away from the main drag which sadly doesn't seem to attract as many diners as it should. We dined there on a Friday night and the place was less than half full. Both the steak and scallops were cooked to perfection, and the desserts were imaginative and delicious. Dining here is expensive but it doesn't disappoint.

We books an evening with Aubrey Allen beef evening. Not knowing what to expect we had a fabulous evening. In between the five courses we were served wine and after each course was explained to us we had a delightful array of beef cooked in different ways served in a fine dining style. The bone marrow was used from the... More

Went to Opus for an Anniversary meal with my wife. It was Saturday night and almost completely empty. Devoid of atmosphere unfortunately. The food was ok but nothing special and no where near worth the price. Disappointing because I've had business lunches at opus that have been fine.

A well managed and slick restaurant with professional ambiance. A large business dinner was well organised with hot food and efficient service, with a range of options to appeal to everyone.

Opus is a stand out restaurant in Birmingham but it isn't for everyone as it has a serious atmosphere rather than being a fun place to eat. The service is excellent and other restaurateurs would do well to send their staff for training. The food is also excellent in terms of quality, choice and presentation. We all had starters mains... Description
Opus Restaurant, in Birmingham’s business district, is a top spot for a business lunch or a schmoozey dinner. The cavernous dining room is a dramatic open space decorated in muted hues. The team at Opus are proud of their modern British menu which showcases locally sourced free range meats and freshly caught fish. Favourites include the Lyme Bay Scallops with Belly of Pork and the Grilled Lobster served with Chips and Garlic Butter. The glamorous waiting staff are super-friendly, and the renowned in-house patisserie gives you a great excuse to have a naughty limoncello-cheesecake ending to your meal. It would be rude not to.
