I came to Itihaas all the way from Coventry for a pre-birthday dinner. I must say it was the best Indian food I have had since I came to England. Now this Indian restaurant can afford to call itself authentic among hoards of aspiring but under achieving novices. At the offset, the ambience beckons images of royalty in a quaint... More

We visit this restaurant on a weekly basis and the food is amazing. They have just launched a new menu which is great. Being a vegetarian I love the fact that they have a lot of extraordinary dishes rather than the usual traditional items. Would highly recommend.

Staff was very friendly with a smile. We went with our family and ordered for platter but one of the manager showed us photo of the starter platter of four and suggested and should say it looked very good presented, it was worth the price. In mains we had scallops and prawns that was yummy too and mango Lassi was... More

Booked Itihaas on recommendation for my birthday,so looking forward to it.Unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. We were shown to our table, after sometime we finally caught the eye of a waiter to take our order.Drinks and popadoms came ,cava not chilled, popadoms stale.Starters we chose a sharing platter,a disappointment, especially the fish.Main courses Rogan gosh, prawn biriani were better.Service was very poor.

So we fancied going for an indian as we hadn't gone out for a meal in ages. We had booked a table for 8.30 and arrive just before. We were told to take a seat in the waiting area. We ended up waiting until 9pm- at no point there was an apology/drinks offered or even a menu shown to us.... More

Nice looking place But need to serve fresh popadoms not stale as this is not a cheap restaurant so you would as least expect money's worth..first impressions count will not visit again. We ended up walking out thinking if we are going to pay them prices the restaurant needs to step up there game it's not about how pretty a... More

We went to the restaurant because of the amazing reviews and things we had heard about it. However I've tasted better curries at less priced restaurants and the same goes for the starters too. The interior design is beautiful, and the presentation is great too! I would say it was better to look at than to eat! Very disappointed. The... More

We visited Itihaas on the 11th June to celebrate my husbands 60th and had booked the private room downstairs, we have eaten here several times and it is always well worth the visit. The room in its self is rather exceptional with beautiful Indian decor. The food was absolutely outstanding, we had ordered mixed starters which included lobster as we were a... Do go here. It's very good. Good choice of veggie and meat dishes. The tandoori paneer was great. My only criticism is that the restaurant is very dark, despite it being right by the waterside

Description
Itihaas is a stunning restaurant where contemporary meets traditional. No expense has been spared in achieving this, and as you step into this two million pounds restaurant, you will certainly see just that. The decor is clean and crisp with plate glass and slate finished walls. This smart and sophisticated interior is complimented by the 18th and 19th century Indian artefacts, including original paintings, carved stone elephants and 300 year old doors. Downstairs, the Maharaja Suite which also seats 80 is luxurious with opulent mood lighting and decorated with more Indian treasures. To complete the real ambience, behind 300 year old Indian wooden doors is the Tiffin Room which seats 12, complete with a bar, library and your very own dedicated butler!Cuisine in this fine establishment is created by award winning chefs and staff who come from Indian Five-Star Hotel backgrounds. They have a single aim - to be able to deliver the authentic Royal Indian dining experience to its patrons with utmost courtesy and hospitality. The menu will take you on a culinary journey through the North of India with a couple of stops through Kenya and vibrant Mumbai. At this royal eatery, indulgence is paramount.
