One of my favourite pubs in town. Great choice and quality of Fuller's ales and we have never had a bad meal here. Great looking pub too with a relatively unknown first floor theatre offering something different to Birmingham's entertainment scene. Good Covid measures in...place.More
We stopped for a quick drink, all Covid in place and friendly happy staff welcoming.
First drink was ok but the 2nd drink, lager was flat and the vodka lemonade was served in a tall glass and the lemonade flat which I returned but it...came back still flat lemonade. They had just changed the glass..
Not busy so should of been perfectMore
On our five day stay in Birmingham my twin brother Stephen and I visited some very fine pubs both modern and old but without a shadow of a doubt The Old Joint Stock Pub was the most ornate and beautiful pub we visited.
Housed in...a Grade II listed building, a former library constructed in 1864 the interior is as good as it gets ,a magnificent dark wood island style serving bar, set over two floors, wonderful furnishings and decorated tastefully throughout, huge paintings hang from the walls ,chandeliers and plenty of seating options, it really is a special pub.
We were here on a Tuesday night, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff, we gave our details of name and phone number to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands, we got a comfortable booth table were we ordered Griffin Brewery " fullers HSB " and these real ale's were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in.
My real ale was outstandingly good, a rich,well balanced pale ale bursting with taste, very easy to drink, a real ale style both myself and my twin brother Stephen are particularly fond of.
We both really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to The Old Joint Stock Pub we were totally impressed.
The Old Joint Stock Pub is easy to locate along Temple Row West.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Saturday, 11am till 11pm.
Sunday, 11am till 8pm.
A wonderful pub ,most definitely well worth a visit if you're in the area.More
The Old Joint Stock Pub&Theatre Was One Of The Most Ornate Pubs We Visited While Staying In Birmingham.Housed In A Grade II Listed Building And Built In 1864 Primary As A Library Then Used As A Bank Then In 1997 It Was Converted Into A...Pub Then In 2006 The Theatre Was Added At A Cost Of £350.000.A Superb Pub With An Amazing Interior With A Glass-Domed Roof And An Island Bar And Many Interesting Features Throughout This Unbelievable Pub This Is In My Opinion The Most Ornate Pub Which I Have Visited In The Uk And I Have Visited Thousands Of Pubs And Bars.Just Opened After The Lockdown And Fairly Late In The Evening When We Arrived And Once We All Gave Our Track And Trace Details We Took A Seat Near The Main Bar Area And Had A Few Glasses Of Fuller's Brewery HSB That Is A Bitter Which Was Perfectly Served As One Would Expect In A Pub Of This Quality And Well Priced.This Is An Amazing Pub In Birmingham City Centre And A Pub That Is Well Worth Visiting As The Beers Are Good And The Pub Itself Is A Joy To Visit And Is Without Doubt One Of The Best Pubs That I Have Ever Visited.Very Easy To Find From Colmore Row Bus Stop (SH2) Walk Along Colmore Row And Turn Left Onto Temple Row.(This Is My First Review Of The Old Joint Stock Pub&Theatre).
