This is a very special place in Birmingham offering great Polish home-made flavoured cuisine. I have visited this place several times and love going back. More on the pricey end of scale but the portions are massive - no one leaves this place hungry!

My partner and I visited the restaurant after seeing it on TV when Ainsley Harriet went there with Len Goodman. Warm welcome and shown to our table (Wooden seat/bench and table, typical Polish) with fleece over backrest. We ordered 2 different polish beers followed by 2 different starters and main meals. My starter the soup in the rye bread cottage... More

What a beautiful restaurant! Fully themed and looks fabulous. Tables are spaced relatively far apart so you're not overlooking your neighbours, they have sheepskins over the backs of all the seats making the restaurant feel very cozy. The waiters look very smart and their service is so polite and fast. I would definitely go here again even though the vegetarian... More

Eastern European home cooking at its finest. Some people find the Karczma over the top but I think it celebrates all that is great and good about Polish culture. Zurek and mead in the winter cannot be topped!

Love the decor inside this place, nice benches with sheepskins. The pierogis £7.90 are delicious as are the potato pancakes £7.90. Beers are about £4/pint and wine is about £20/bottle. The other mains are around £15, have had the beef stew before which was tasty but would recommend getting the mixed selection of pierogis instead, delicious!

Painted ceiling, wooden tables and benches draped with sheepskin rugs. You feel as if you are dining in a very smart barn or country cottage. The staff were very friendly. My wife and I both ordered soup to start. Mine was in a hollowed out bread loaf. If you had eaten the loaf too it would have been a complete... More

Ten minutes walk from the centre of Birmingham this is a gem of a place. The decor is rustic, the benches somewhat hard but the welcome is warm and the food comforting. It's also great value. Pork tongue in aspic followed by Salmon on a potato pancake with steamed vegetables was a hearty and filling meal. There's an interesting selection... More

Description
The Karczma is a traditional Polish restaurant, bar and grill located in the heart of Birmingham, just 5min walk from both the Bull Ring Shopping Centre and Moor Street Rail Station.

Restaurant is decorated in the style of an old Polish country cottage seating 85 people across 2 rooms.

The menu is designed to reflect a homely, hearty and rustic food that's quintessentially Polish, and prepared using only the very best quality ingredients.

The menu contains numerous Polish classics including Pierogi (stuffed dumplings), Berszcz (Beetroot soup), Pickled Herring, Zurek (Pickled Rye Flour Soup) served from a hollowed out loaf of bread, as well as a whole host of grilled meats and fish.

We wish you a pleasant stay and Enjoy !!!
