On recommendation from staff at SP Green, we checked this place out. Served by Kelly D, we were able to choose from a varied menu. Friday lunchtime was not too busy, restaurant was spacious, airy and air conditioned. Menu prices were extremely competitive, platters were well filled and beautifully presented. Great value for money. Wheell chair accessible with toilets on both levels. Would recommend. Staff were attentive and very pleasant.

We visited this restaurant as a family recently. Decor is lovely and staff were very helpful and welcoming. We had a mixture of food children had the pizza and burgers which were very tasty & generous portion sizes as was the fish and chips.However other adults ordered sea bass and lamb chops which were very tasty but portions are far too small for the price there asking and sea bass is served without vegetables and far too many potatoes. I've never had sea bass served without a side of vegetables. Personally although food is tasty it's accompanied with too many carbs. Great choice of drinks but considering location cocktails are too pricey and they would benefit with some cocktail offers like many other good restaurants in the city centre do.

They say first impressions count and after calling to double check allergy information I was impressed. I spoke to Arif to ask if that had an allergy menu available. He popped me on hold and went to check out the dishes with the kitchen while I waited which was very reassuring and I felt quite happy to book this birthday treat when he came back based on this info and service. It’s great to be able to check there will be something on the menu before arrival and also keeps the fuss about it to a minimum.
On arrival at 1:30 it was a fairly quiet but by the time we left it was full so I would definitely recommend booking if you want to guarantee a table especially if a larger party.
It’s an interesting building and a really good atmosphere too, I thought it may be a bit cool and draughty but far from it ( particularly the really warm toilets !)
Staff were really friendly and service was good. The waitress also made sure allergy requirements were checked again with the kitchen and it was noted on that persons order too.
We shared some dirty fries to start but when we did get the mains we should have skipped the starters as portions were very generous. The triple cooked chips were delicious so it’s worth the upgrade on these if asked. A few of us had the buttermilk chicken burger which was lovely, pizzas were fresh and hot and the chicken & leak pie was really tasty and filling too.
All the food we had was delicious, hot and very filling, absolutely no chance of making it to a desert !
Will definitely visit again - the bottomless brunch looks like a great option as does the Sunday lunch.

Having visited previously on 4 or 5 occasions todays food and service was a disappointing let down.
Our Order for Three ….
2 x Poached Eggs Smoked Salmon and smashed avocado
1 x Vegetarian Breakfast
3 x Coffees and 1 x Tomato juice
No too taxing or over complicated.
Poached Eggs & Smashed avocado served without smoked salmon. Requested smoked salmon twice eventually served one portion. Eggs and Toast then cold and whites of egg not even cooked/set.
Tomato Juice never arrived.
3 x additional Coffees
Black Americano served with Milk on both occasions.
Requested the Bill and ‘Kelly’ immediately on hand to take contactless payment even though one of our group in the toilet.
Asked to split £47.62 three ways. Kelly then proceeded to take £23.81 each from the two of us, waiting for the third person to return she took an additional £23.81
When we realised her error we requested a refund which seemed to complicate the issue.
Instead of three refunds of £7.94 on each card we were given £23.81 Cash (£20 note + Change).
Previous visit’s impeccable service and perfect food (see December Review).

A Christmas meal with a friend at The Rolling Mill proved to be a disappointment
We arrived early with a view of having a couple of drinks at the bar before taking our table. This was not possible because of a party that was taking place in the bar area.
We took our table early and were told abruptly that we would need to vacate it within 2 hours
We decided to have a couple of cocktails before our meal. My friends first choice was not available because they had ‘run out’ of that one. How do you run out of cocktails??!! Mine was sadly lacking and tasted just like a glass of lemonade. I doubt there was more than a teaspoon of vodka in it
We were told we were not able to order from the festive set menu as that needed to be prepared- ordered. Why wasn’t that communicated when we made our reservation?
The wine we wanted was not available
The food we did order came very quickly and was hot and tasty
We decided to skip on desserts and move onto somewhere else. The waitress asked if we were splitting the bill and bought 2 bills to the table . I thought it seemed rather high and asked for a bill that showed what we had ordered. She seemed very surprised at this request but eventually provided a full bill. Upon inspection this included 2 desserts that we had not ordered
All in all a sadly disappointing visit and not really worthy of the 10% service charge automatically added to the bill

I can’t comprehend how this restaurant has this many positive reviews. This genuinely makes me question that if i went to the correct The Rolling Mill. After sitting down literally 2 minutes laters they asked for our food order we kindly asked them a little bit of time then shortly they came and asked for orders again and we kindly asked for a few minutes again. After that our food came the presentation of the foods were really sadly i cant say the same for taste. The chicken in the burger and the bun was cold and tastless.
I think it is so overpriced when you think about the foods you are getting in return. I hope someday i could think otherwise about this place.

The place was beautiful with lovely decor and atmosphere. Our server Petra was very nice. I felt let down by the bao bun dish which was super oily. It was leaking oil onto the plate. The lamb chops were cooked closer to medium than medium rare that we requested but still tasted nice. The dauphinouse potato's were yummy! Limited selection on the cocktails. Overall mixed feelings on going back.

I visited THE ROLLING MILL twice last week, Tuesday evening and Saturday night.
I had the tray bake Tuesday's and my partner had the chicken burger, both were absolutely delicious. The tray bake was just perfect for a healthy yet flavoursome start to my week. Our food came out nicely plated, our server was very attentive, and the venue’s décor is beautiful. On Saturday I decided to have a girl’s night out here. My girlfriends were not disappointed, and the atmosphere was electric. This night I ordered the tastiest lamb cutlet dinner I have ever eaten, and we ended the night with several unique cocktails. There is so much more I want to try off the menu. looking forward to my next visit.

Absolutely LOVE this place! What a little gem in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter. Not only does the venue look amazing but the food and service is unbelievably good too! I decided to go on a Tuesday as I saw this new chicken tray bake they featured on Instagram that looked divine (and it's a Tuesday special)... it didn't disappoint! The chicken was cooked perfectly and the whole meal was literally heaven in my mouth. I honestly can't wait to go back! Would 10000% recommend.

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! The food, the vibe and the atmosphere was eclectic and fun. This is a great place to catch up with a friend in the trendy Jewellery Quarter. Dress code is smart casual and we were lucky enough to find parking on the road.
I ordered the ham, leek and pancetta pie with the triple cooked chips. One Word. Divine. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the buttermilk chicken burger with a cheeky truffle mac and cheese to share. We even had space for dessert! The deconstructed 99 flake was so good and the popping candy a nice surprise for texture. The service we received was superb and our server was happy to accommodate to specific requests. The food was excellent and reasonably priced.
The menu was a little limiting, although there were GF and V options ready available. Expansion is on the horizon at The Rolling Mill and I will definitely be going back to check out new changes on the menu!

Average is the best way to describe this place; the food was nothing special, the vibe felt sterile and everything was £3-4 overpriced. Service charge was added without asking, which felt slightly cheeky given prices were already inflated. Would not recommend.

The place and ambience is really nice. New, fresh and comfortable.
We visited for a Sunday lunch it was just ok. For a sufficient size meal you do need to order sides. For a lunch and a side each, £24 pp and if we wanted extra gravy an extortionate £2!!
A service charge was also automatically added to the bill, which is fine if you’re offering exceptional service but standard run of mill pub service - that doesn’t warrant a service charge. We wasn’t even asked if our meal was ok
Personally the beer choice wasn’t great, no Sol or Corona and have stopped selling Modelo. Something that may not be an issue to others but due to this we won’t now be watching the football there.
Overall, it was all pretty average when you compare with the price and for that reason I wouldn’t go back for Sunday lunch. Not quite how this place is so high on Trip Advisor, maybe a bad day…

I held my 30th birthday party at the rolling Mill and couldn’t recommend it more. We hired the private mezzanine for a group of 25. The decor is beautiful and the restaurant had such a great vibe on a Saturday night. We worked with the managers to come up with a reduced menu due to the numbers but they didn’t require pre ordering which was great. They made personalised menus for the evening which was a lovely touch and we had our own waitress taking drinks orders all night. The food was outstanding and all arrived at the same time, and was piping hot. Please visit!!!

Went today for a Sunday roast, it’s a really cool place and the staff were lovely. The roast beef was good but unfortunately it arrived fairly cold, which spoilt it. Will definitely go back again but hope they can ensure the food arrives to the table hot.

The food on offer sounded like some of it was from a “pimped up” Harvester menu. The food was served by friendly staff and it came quick but was served on very cold plates so for example the fries were on the cool side of warm when they arrived. Also who really cares what sort of specialty hens the eggs come from? If the restaurant’s positioning was farm to fork that might be relevant but less so for a mid market US themed eatery.
