I've been to Annexe more than a few times over the years and try to pop in for lunch or dinner whenever I'm in town. I even sent my mum there for lunch when she asked me for recommendations of restaurants in Birmingham! It's always been excellent in it's category. Great atmosphere, good wine list with options at every budget,... More

Being a very loyal customer of this establishment over the years, I was intrigued to see that Annexe had "relaunched" itself into a new, dynamic, fine-dining experience. Therefore when the new chef was displaying the new heights of cuisine at their Spanish Night earlier this summer, I couldn't resist in attending. WOW! Talk about a new ship and captain at... More

Well, I wanted to give it a Second chance but this time my experience was worse than the first time. Now they have a £39 for 3 courses menu. Choice of 5 courses but the starter I chose they didn't have in. The aperitif we waited 20 mins for and arrived moments before the starter described as 'langoustine' which was... More

The Annexe has always been one of my favourite restaurants and as such, I didn't hesitate to recommend it to friends recently. Whilst the food itself remains exciting and delicious, the portions are now extremely small in relation to newly inflated prices. During our meal, the waitress repeatedly asked for feedback on the new menu. However, it quickly became apparent... More

We went here as a family following a graduation. It really is a very special place and the food was of high quality. Very interesting choices and flavours. But it was a good job wwe had been offered nibbles with apperetifs earlier in the day or else I think we would have left the restaurant still hungry.

I come to Birmingham quite often for work related reasons and I always enjoy a meal in this restaurant. In my last trip, I had the pleasure to try the new menu and I was very impressed. The food was of great quality, with a European touch that really makes it very interesting. I was able to choose among several... More

Let's be clear we have previously enjoyed Annexe and the ambience remains excellent. However, the move to "fine dining" is an error in my opinion and I'd say needs to be reviewed. I'm all for progress and recognise that places will evolve, but this didn't work for us on Saturday evening. Where to begin? Okay the starters, after being at... More

Dear Sir, Thanks for visiting Annexe. I am glad you enjoyed the ambience so much, but I am sorry to hear that you did not appreciate the overall dining experience. Our menu style has changed - however we would not describe it as fine dining. It is New Meditteranean Cuisine; innovative, with bold flavours and bright colours. I understand it... More

This place was recommended - we had the three course with completely wine selection. The food and wine were all excellent, a mixture of intense flavours, However, the quantities of food were disappointing. I am not a fan of large meals, but it's just to get the full impact of some of the flavours there needed to be a little... More
