The food we ordered was excellent and we went for the wine paring too, which we all enjoyed. However, the menu and what you could choose was complicated. It needs simplifying and making clear what you can and cannot have depending on whether opting for the three, five or seven course menu. There is a lack of flexibility unfortunately but... More

Fabulous three course lunch to mark a friend's birthday. Service was extremely good - polite, friendly staff who were all very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Food delicious. I had the tomato, smoked ricotta & Tamworth back fat starter which was wonderfully creamy yet light. Main course lamb was unbelievably tender. Cherry tart and meadowsweet ice cream for dessert... We made a very last minute booking for Carters (2 hours notice) online. Love the look of the place, nice little bar area in the window to sit if you fancy a pre-dinner cocktail. Open restaurant, not too crowded and you can see through into a kitchen full of staff beavering away. The menu comes in a choice of 3,... More

This was our first visit to Carters of Moseley, and it certainly won't be our last. We opted for the 5 course lunch menu and just didn't want the experience to end. Having eaten at the other top fine dining restaurants in the city, I'd say Carters is the most casual and relaxed of them all. There is no sense... More

We went with friends last time; this time we went on our own. The food was superb. I was driving, so declined alcohol, but was persuaded to try a ‘green tea’ derivative. I wasn’t sure, but decided to give it a go (it’s the one which is sparkling). It was lovely and complemented the food very well. Each course was... More

We've been a couple of times to Carters, and can't think of a better place to send you for a great meal for a special occasion or if you are feeling flush. They usually use a tasting menu--choose 5 or 7 courses--and offers a vegetarian option. The starters course--snacks, they are so humbly called--is lovely and variable to what the... More

Dined here in July, opting for the 7 course tasting menu with the accompanying wine flight. Food was amazing...excellent flavours and well explained by the front of house team. Some of the dishes appear to change on a regular basis so very pleasing to think that a return visit will have something new to try. We opted for the wine... More

First time at Carters, and wow what a fantastic evening. From the moment we arrived the staff were all smiles, friendly and attentive. The food and the wines were explained clearly. We went for the 7 course taster menu, this was well delivered, interesting and delicious food, creatively thought out, washed down with yummy bottle Prosecco, which we love to... More

Modern fine dining in a warm, unpretentious atmosphere prepared by one of the country's most exciting young chefs. The 'main courses' are always a highlight which is rare for a tasting menu. Would recommend this place to anyone who thinks that fine dining is a stuffy experience comprised of scowls and tired dishes. Prepare to be won over!
