I must admit I wasn't sure how you can fit a restaurant on a narrow boat. It's a little bit awkward to board the boat, but it is bright & pleasant once you are in. We were given a 3 hour cruise around the canals of Birmingham, whilst we ate a three course meal. The food was traditional British Fair.... More

The food wasn't the best I've had, it definitely wasn't bad but if you cooked this as a roast on a Sunday you wouldn't be ringing up your mum to show off. The service was very good and humorous though and thr atmosphere and scenery was brilliant. Definitely worth doing.

This is great for groups and a good experiencing including dining and observing the bank-side. I've done this is the light and the dark which is an interesting contrast.

My wife and I took my mother-in-law out in Birmingham for this Canal Cruise with Sunday Lunch. If you are looking for something different from an everyday Sunday Lunch this is wonderful. Before booking the staff helpfully (and accurately) explained the accessibility of the boat, relevant to an elderly person. Everything was wonderful but the things we particularly liked were:-... Booked a table for me and my husband as it was a treat for his 50th birthday surprise. We chose the evening cruise with 5 courses. The food was delicious and plentiful. Gill was a perfect host. The whole trip takes about 3 hours and after 2 hours it moors up briefly so you can get off to stretch your... More

A Sunday lunch had been bought for us as a present. Arriving in time for the midday sailing, we were shown to our nicely laid table. Due to the limitations of a six feet wide vessel the dining tables and space is somewhat limited. The cruise initially heads towards Edgbaston Reservoir then back to Brindley Place and Gas Street Basin... More

I am surprised at some of the, admittedly very few, negative comments on here. This is an amazing way to spend a Saturday evening with excellent food, all the more amazing bearing in mind it's cooked in kitchen little bigger than a broom cupboard. It's a narrow boat so space is at a premium but there is no claustrophobic feel... More

Me and my partner booked this trip before we came to Birmingham over the phone and we are so glad we did! Our hosts were so friendly on this lovely, relaxing 3 hour cruise with a delicious 3 course lunch and it was the perfect way to relax on a Sunday afternoon! The roast beef dinner was absolutely perfect, proper... More

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed a leisurely lunch with an ever changing view aboard the Moira Rose. Setting off from Brindleplace the boat takes a route through the old and new of Birmingham. Our meal was very well presented and we were not disappointed with any aspect. Gill and the team do a wonderful job inside and Dave was... More
