This is a special place ....

I ate here on friday evening, we were 2 couples and it was my pal's 50th birthday. I chose the venue, so I hoped it would be as wonderful as the 3 previous occasions I had been. I needn't have worried ... because it was again fantastic. The ambience, service and cuisine is beautiful. My scallop... read more

For some to complain that the portions are too small (especially on the testing menu) is utterly ridiculous. By the 8th course I was fit to burst. A tasting menu should leave you satisfied but not stuffed, so if anything I'd say there was a fraction too much food. Martin on front of house is exceptional, really friendly with a... More

Had 8 course taster menu. Champagne, artisan breads, cauliflower and truffle valute, foie gras and home made chutney, scallop on celeriac and apple 4 ways, sea bass with saffron sauce and octopus, duck with seared foie gras and cherry and port sauce and parsnip 2 ways, chocolate mousse with calvados sauce then orange soufflé, and whisky cocktails. Cost £150 for... More

This was our second visit and will definitely be going again. We first tried here last November and had the 3 course lunch, and as the food and service were so good we decided to go back and we bought the voucher off Living Social which was £75 for 2 people for their 8 course tasting menu. The food was... More

An all round fantastic experience, a truly fitting environment for such great occasions, outstanding service, made to feel welcomed from the moment we opened the door. The food was simply exceptional, no wonder the chef has won the title of best in Birmingham 2 years running!

My first time and not my last. Had lunch using a travelzoo voucher and was very impressed with the quality, presentation and service. (Just to make you aware - they will add 12% service charge to the entire bill - before any discount. I'm not a fan of service charges, but since everything was so perfect I didn't make a... More

Had an excellent 3 course meal with a friend which was half price using the "French Kiss" offer that Edmunds emails out from time to time if you add yourself to the mailing list. Fantastic value with the deal. The restaurant itself is fitted out to a high standard and the service was excellent. It was surprisingly quiet when we... More

Small intimate little restaurant, with very attentive but unobtrusive staff. Portions look small at first but by the time you have the amuse bouche ( ours was cauliflower veloute with truffle oil, delicious) , pre - dessert plus the three courses, you feel not to full but just right. One of the best beef I have eaten in a long... More

We bought a voucher for this restaurant, from Living Social; we'd been planning to visit for a while and the offer was £65 per head, so thought we'd give it a try. We had the 8 course taster menu and it was absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were perfect - we ate everything! Staff were attentive and friendly, with excellent knowledge... More
