Always looking for somewhere different to take my mum for lunch I found the Anchor on trip advisor. Was not disappointed. Lovely location. We had the fish and chips which were really good with a lovely pot of tea - not the usual cup which has to be refilled at a tea cost! Good value for money. What really made... More

We booked a table as haven't been to The Anchor Inn for a while, but know regardless that they are always busy! Table was booked for a party of six people on a Tuesday evening at 6pm and it was super busy when we arrived! The Anchor Inn has a new owner, you can tell, the dining room is now... More

This is a popular Pub so suggest booking. Seems the Staff change every few months but they seem keen if occasionally forgetful (had to remind him he was bringing us the sweet menu) We Visited Lunch time Mid week with friends. My Mates each had Fish & Chips & I had the Beef & ale pie. Clean plates all round.... More

Wonderfully friendly staff, amazing fresh produce used to create home made meals cooked to perfection. Great price for food and drinks. We were really very impressed. Wish we had a pub like this in Chelmsford

Ad hoc visit for Sunday lunch. Seated quickly at 2pm don't know if this is normal for this pub. Have eaten here in the evenings but not got round to a lunch. Pub was full when we came to leave at 3. Food brought out promptly, hot and good portion sizes. Very tasty, and really pleased to see good alternative... More

We were staying locally in the Chesford Grange Hotel, so were looking for somewhere to eat on an early Friday night. This place looked good, so we arrived at around 6:00, and the place was pretty empty. When entering, we were told that the place was fully booked, but we could have a table which we had to vacate by... More

Living nearby we regularly visit this village pub for family meals. During the last 3 years, we have never had anything less than a delightful experience. Great quality food and service, reasonable prices with tasty and varied, well-kept real ales. My wife enjoys Prosecco by the glass, too!

We came here in January last year and again Boxing Day with family and once again they did not fail to please. Anything can change in 12 months but the food was really nice again and the staff were friendly, no doubt we will be coming to visit again this year. Many thanks

Came here with my family for my mums birthday. Good choice on the menu, was tempted by quite a lot of options. Also had a great Gluten Free menu for my sister. She struggles to find restaurants to accommodate her allergy but had loads of great choices here, and having them listed on a separate menu made it really easy... More
