We came here as a large group of 7 adults and 6 (sometime noisy!) children. We were a little late (hard to round up 6 kids!!), but our table was kept. We walked through a new housing estate to get there, which felt like we were going wrong but were really pleasantly surprised to arrive at the peaceful canal side... More

Great food, beer, atmosphere and service. Had grilled fish and sweet potato chips, was excellent. Friends had chicken and battered fish and chips, also good. Good bar staff. By canal, so even better in good weather.

Canal side pub with excellent real ale and good selection of meals. Our group had fish and chips and roast beef dinners. Food was excellent. Waitress was friendly and efficient. The selection of real ales is impressive. With local breweries including Hook Norton and Church End. There is also a good selection of other drinks including Prosecco in small bottles.... More

Friendly and helpful staff, clean tasty food with simple flavours. Well looked after ale with a good selection. 6 ales if I remember correctly. On the canal, with quirky feel. Will definitely go back.

Loved this restaurant but tonight's fish and chips was appalling ,fish was over cooked and not served with minted mushy peas..on the plus side waitress was lovely

We can only apologise for your experience tonight. As you can see from our other reviews this isn't a normal occourance. We had a new young chef working who made a mistake. At the time we apologised and of course didn't charge you for your meal. We are happy to give you a voucher to come back again & restore... More

Don't be fooled by the modern housing estate you drive through to get here - once you reach the Cape of Good Hope you're in a genuine, characterful old canal-side pub. There is a reasonable selection of interesting real ales on offer, as well as the standard lagers and cider - my "Goat's Milk" was delightfully dry and hoppy. The... More

Gorgeous Sunday roast in a lovely setting. We sat outside and enjoyed the busy but relaxed canal side view. This is a perfect pub for when the suns shining!

Visited a couple of weeks ago after googling for a local place to eat. Can't believe we have never been here before. Sat outside and had a great dinner. The choice was good, the food really nice and the staff really friendly. Oh the wine was brilliant. Will definitely be returning.
