Just enjoyed a wonderfully fun weekend in Stratford Upon Avon, which really is a great place to spend a few days, and Loxleys really did play it’s part in adding to the experience. Anyone who has been there, or lives in the area, will know...there are a huge amount of eateries within the town area so if you aren’t quality you aren’t there for long and this place is one of the best we have tried. We went there for an afternoon lunch and arrived around 2pm and I literally cannot fault our experience in any way - we even liked the bloody wallpaper!
Our host John was friendly, engaging and clearly knew his job. Our waitress Tania was equally attentive and cheerful which just the right amount of interaction and engagement leaving us feeling looked after without being overbearing. The other staff were also all fully on their game being unfailingly courteous and professional,
The atmosphere was perfect, subdued lighting and very relaxing decor, toilets clean and well looked after, and the whole place clean and well maintained,
The champagne was very cold, which is a common and unforgivable sin in some restaurants, and likewise the Peroni. Our starters were both superb with my wife enjoying the Goats Cheese Panacotta and myself the wings with cheese dip. We then had the Rib Eye steak and Lamb for mains which were faultless and the only reason we didn’t have desserts (the choices look amazing) was because we needed to save space for more of the excellent wine!
We then retired to the bar area where we went on to spend a further several hours finishing off a perfect afternoon.
I really cannot recommend the place enough and when we return (which we will as Stratford is a superb weekend break) we will undoubtedly book this place for an encore. There is just too much on the menu we want to try and as I have said the overall experience is as good as any you will find in Stratford, Thanks to Tania, John and the staff for a great afternoon!More
