Arrived after no response ti email or phone calls but managed to get a table. Covid friendly. Excellent and attentive staff with quick service. Pie of the day for me and cattage pie for my wife were fantastic and extremely hot on hot plates. Washed...down with a couple of beers and soft drinks, £40 well spent. Left happy and content.More

Booked a table for 4 and a dog here on a Sunday. Only roasts were on the menu, beef, pork or turkey. Can't comment on vegetarian options. Very Covid-19 safe, even temp taken on arrival. Service good and all the roasts came with all the...trimmings (lovely Yorkshire pudding for all, pigs in blankets, stuffing) and big jug of gravy to share. Very tastý!More

6 of us went here for a celebratory evening meal, food was lovely and all nice and hot. Waitress who looked after us was on the ball and very friendly. Covid procedures followed well and they took our temperatures on entry. Would reccomend

It was our first visit to this beautiful, old pub set in the heart of Stratford . The decor is charming and it has a very snug and cosy feeling inside. Upon arrival we were seated at a table that was not reserved. After we...had paid for our drinks, my husband happened to strike up a conversation with a member of staff and asked about staying for something to eat . We were told at that point that we had to leave the table within the next thirty minutes. It might have been helpful to have shared this information with us before we had entered and purchased drinks. We felt misled, especially after we had been seated at an unreserved table. Sadly, rushing our drinks left us feeling pressured and uncomfortable. I would love to visit this pub again, but would certainly book ahead in future, to ensure that we at least had time to enjoy our surroundings.More

Visited here for lunch today and we all had a wonderful time! One of the nicest lunches we've had in years. We thought we'd meet in Stratford Upon Avon for a change and we were deciding between here, the Windmill and another place and couldn't...be happier we chose here. Everything from the atmosphere, the chilled but fast service, heating, decor, the beer, the FOOD! was just top notch. My friends had the duck pate and salmon starter which looked delicious & they LOVED. Dave had baked camembert (I dug into it!) and I had minted pea soup and wow, nicest soup I've ever tasted. The camembert was so flavourful with fresh rosemary and roasted garlic. For mains Dave had the pie of the day with gravy which couldn't be faulted. Lovely smooth, creamy mash. I had the blue cheese tart special and chunky chips, it didn't disappoint! Delicious and hope it's on specials again next time we come back! My friends had the hallomi salad and salmon and prawn salad which looked divine (hope my pro pics did it justice, tongue in cheek!). A small but varied menu which left us all pleased! We didn't stop laughing from start to finish which is testament to what a lovely environment we found ourselves in today, was just supposed to be a random Wednesday lunch but ended up having the best time in a long, long time. Thanks to the pretty blonde lady serving, very efficient and worked hard the whole time we were there. Nothing was too much trouble! Sorry we didn't get your name! You deserved a proper mention. I highly recommend anyone visit 'the old thatch tavern', we will certainly be back the next time we want to venture further afield. Sanitizar everywhere, and hilariously enough we had our forehead temps taken on the way in and luckily none of us were caught sneaking out and about with COVID! First place I've been to taking temperatures, and various other measures, made us feel totally safe. Thank you! Oh only two of us could squeeze in dessert. My hubby had the apricot crumble and my friends shared the strawberry and apple crumble and both said they were to die for but were ready to burst because the portions were so big!More

How disappointing to see just how revolting a pub can be. The fish and chips were utterly inedible. I have never tasted anything more foul. The fish had a tainted flavour, and the chips were still half frozen as were the "garden" peas. Horribly overpriced...garbage. The worst bit? The manager happily scooped up a plate of uneaten food with out even a question why? Clearly she knew the fish was bad but rather than address the problem simply presented the bill. Happy to have conned another customer. There are many better pubs than this one. We tried to support our community in COVID-19 times but left hungry, ill and largely ripped off.More

Well here is a prime example of "how revolting" one person can be and I have no idea what you gain from being so nasty. If you are local you should be ashamed of yourself writing such vicious and unfounded comments. Words such as garbage,...More

I would suggest booking, as we were only given half an hour to drink without a booking.
