We are Saltwater regulars and were really looking forward to returning. As usual the food was excellent and the service friendly and efficient. The specials board is always our first choice - but this time they cooked me a tuna steak (not on either menu)...to personal request from the fish counter - Amazing! If you enjoy quality seafood and enjoy eating in relaxed and unpretentious surroundings then there is no better restaurant in the region.More

I ate here on Saturday 22 May with my wife and 2 kids , 8 and 4 years old. We had the shellfish platter, lobster and all ! Kids had fish gujons and fries, asked for seconds , which is a first. Our fist meal...out since lockdown was lifted, and it was absolutely amazing, the service , the food , a great experience. been here before and it is always excellent.More

Absolutely beautiful! Fresh seafood, lovely wine and amazing customer service. We live in Scotland and genuinely felt like we were being served at home with the quality of the ‘Loch Fyne’ oysters and hand dived scallops. Really impressed. Definitely worth a try whilst in Newcastle.

We dined for a late lunch on Saturday as a treat. The whole place was lovely and clean and very covid safe. The staff were very friendly (especially the brunette girl) and kept us topped up. The food was lovely and we enjoyed watching the...food be cooked.More

Birthday lunchtime treat. Super selection of oysters and outstanding sauvignon. Staff were very friendly and chatty despite the obligatory face masks.

We have dined here on many occasions and although the menu can be expensive we always felt the quality of the food justified the cost. So we thought we would try the 50% deal to support our local businesses. What a kick in the teeth.huge...price rises mean the 50% is almost in significant (£32.50 for sirloin steak and chips). The seafood mixed grill was as usual really good . The service charge is now consolidated into the food price so it is compulsory. I dont like this as staff need not be as attentive and it shows! They have realised the tip is in the bag now. All in all food quality is great but the drink and food prices appear to have all bumped up to catch the August diners. (And no 3 course special)More

Visited on a Sunday for lunch and a great experience from start to finish. The precautions against CoVid 19 are sensible without affecting the quality and atmosphere too much. I love the fact that the fish is taken from the counter where it is on...display to be sold and then the dish is prepared and cooked as you watch. I had monkfish which was perfectly cooked and a lovely, chunky and meaty portion served with salsa and roasted onions and sides of skinny fries and samphire. My husband was spoilt for choice and had the seafood platter of scallop, salmon, prawns, tuna and plaice? in garlic butter. The empty plates were testimony to the quality and now we have discovered this gem we will be returning for sure.More

Really enjoyed my visit the food was great and everything was in place for COVID. It's especially important at times like these to support local business. I'll be booking again be sure to do the same.
