Came for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. We shared some bread and olives as we were warned hubby's main course would be 20 minutes in the making. The bread was two big chunks of foccacia so we asked for the varied bread selection they used to serve but sadly don't now. It was replaced for ciabatta which was preferable to... More

Booked a table for 16 of us for my birthday. I have to say the food was incredible and the service was top class. Everyone had a great time. Thanking the Marco Polo staff for their service. Highly recommend this place.

I highly recommend trying their twist on a cosmopolitan-their marcopolitain, it's amazing! So is the mushroom risotto. This restaurant has never failed to disappoint me and I would recommend it to anyone! The food is delicious and of a high standard but with a good price tag.

This is such a great place for a meal whether it's with friends, families, couples, lunchtimes, party times, romantic occasions or any time meals out. It is very popular so you may need to consider booking for weekends and holidays.

Whilst walking down towards the quayside we decided to drop in here for some tea. Restaurant was well presented, staff were friendly and the place was nice and clean. Food was really tasty, lots of choice and a good atmosphere, I would visit again when looking for an Italians.

Lovely restaurant which my boyfriend and I visited, whilst in Newcastle. Food was gorgeous, enjoyed starters and mains. Quite pricey but worth the money as the service/food was good.

Stop off at marco's after afternoon hitting the shop for early dinner. The menu range was good with a lovely fix price set menu for two or three courses. Food was tasty and they had good range of wines from different regions of italy and the service was good aswell .What more can you ask for.

We ended up at Marco Polo's after another local restaurant messed up our booking - And I'm glad they did otherwise we wouldn't have ended up at Marco Polo's. The restaurant is lovely - Nice atmosphere. The food is amazing, we had the bread and olives to start and fillet steak for the main. It was cooked to perfection. It's... More

We visited for restaurant week. The food was lovely and we had a really enjoyable evening. The goats cheese salad in particular was lovely and I tried swordfish for the first time. Recommended by the waiter who was very friendly and helpful. Thanks, it was a good choice. Very juicy and the salad that accompanied it was delicious! Actually all... More

Description
Marco Polo is an Italian bistro that is celebrating its 40th year of trading. We are an independent restaurant and locally owed. We offer a wide range of pizza/pasta and consider this to be our bread and butter. However we really come in to our own on the a la carte side of the menu. All our dishes are prepared on site and deliver extremely good value. The restaurant is always busy and has great atmosphere. We can cater for most requests. We take reservations and also hold a number of tables back for walk-in custom. So if you're passing pop in.
