Location and contact

Artisan is a modern restaurant serving British inspired menus using the finest regional and seasonal ingredients. Heading up the kitchen is former North East Chef of the year winner Andrew Wilkinson. Sourcing from the fields, the foragers and the fisherman, Andrew and his team are inspired by daily hauls from our local producers, to create menus which balance a delicacy of technique with an intensity of fresh flavour. We are listed in this year's Good Food Guide and have been awarded 1 AA Rosette. Our Sunday lunches are also ranked amongst the top 25 in the UK, as voted for by The Times.

Early 6pm Saturday dinner and the relatively small place was full and buzzing. The maitre d’ was excellent, friendly, professional and welcoming. The Prix Fixé menu was excellent but perhaps the desserts were uninspiring. My pumpkin soup was exquisitely presented and silky. The beef cheek...More

I took one of my Sons for Sunday lunch. The service was professional and the manager was extremely welcoming and efficient. The food was first class. Tender beef with a great taste, a crunchy Yorkshire pudding and ‘no soggy vegetables’. This is the third time...More

We booked a table for 10 people at the artisan to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The booking process was easy, we were asked to pay a £10 deposit per person, which was put towards the final bill. The restaurant was perfect for the group to...More

Nice dinner for meat eaters but unfortunately the menu did not have enough vegetarian options, and curd featured on both the main and starter. We eventually asked if the soup without the chorizo would still be vegetarian and as we were advised it was, asked...More

Hi - I'm not quite sure wether you can. It's a fantastic place to eat - they won't be disappointed with that as a gift. Try calling the restaurant - they're very accommodating.
