Beer was really good (try the Prince Bishop). I can't really put my finger on it, but it seemed a little run down. Not massively awful, but just not as good as I remember. Good beer but a bit grotty - probably would benefit from a refresh.

We had booked a table but there was no space for us in the restaurant so we ate in the bar. We were ok with this but it could be worth checking if you want a place in the conservatory. The beer was very good and has saved the rating! The bar is friendly and we chatted with local residents.... More

I've been to the Keelman a couple of times but only for drink and, to be honest have never been blown away. However, my husband and I had been on a walk down the riverside and I fancied a hot drink and a bite to eat. The little cafe by the park was full so we decided to nip into... More

What a beautiful first impression this pub made. We couldn't wait to get inside for a nice cold drink and order a couple of meals. Some waitress staff were friendly but bar staff seemed miserable and unfriendly. Food was placed in front of us within five mins of sitting down (great if it tasted great) combo was all greasy and... Thought we'd try somewhere different for Sunday lunch but what a bad choice we made going here which is such a shame because it's such a lovely place. My husband, my two little boys and myself walked into the bar and stood waiting to be seated, we were then approached by the manager (which we later found out when my... More

While the service from the new member of staff (she made a point of telling us while taking our order badly) was ok, I opted for the apparently new 'Steak, Pancetta and red wine pie', which is the worst thing I could've done. The gravy was bland, insipid and colourless, the steak while tender had no flavour and the pancetta... More

We visited the Keelman for lunch on a Sunday and had no problem getting a table even though we hadn't reserved. The staff were friendly and service was prompt. There was a good atmosphere and it was busy without feeling chaotic. I ordered the Aberdeen Angus burger and requested for it to be cooked pink. When it came, it was... More

Called in for Sunday lunch at 5pm. Roast beef all round. Rounded off by a caramel and honeycomb sundae. All hit the spot. Staff are as great as ever. Haven't been for a while but remembered by them. Place is looking a little shabby hence only 4/5

Decided to visit here with my daughter and her partner as we live locally and wanted somewhere new to try. Glad we did as the staff were lovely, it has a real pub atmosphere to it and the food was lovely.
