Having lived locally for a number of years and never actually grasping the opportunity to visit Quay Ingredient, my partner and myself finally managed to be here together on a Sunday morning and had high hopes. The place is quite small, but excellent use is made of the available space. There's a definite buzz about the place and the staff... More

We were recommended this cafe whilst visiting Newcastle and we would thoroughly recommend it to others. We had a fantastic breakfast and although we had to wait (as it was so busy), it was more than worth it! Hold out if there's a queue, this special cosy cafe serves a whole host of delicious breakfast choices and hot drinks. A... More

We came as a group of seven and although Quay Ingredient is a small place the staff were more than happy to accommodate us. With it being a Sunday they were out of mushrooms but the chef was more than happy to adjust the menu options for us. The staff couldn't do enough for us. The food was lovely and... More

I had heard about this place but never took time to find out where it was. But out looking for a breakfast on my last day in Gateshead/Newcastle I took a turn down this little street and there it was on my left. What a fine. It took me a while to decide on what they call a Scottie. A... More

We had the most amazing breakfast here! I am dairy intolerant and it was no problem at all. We can highly recommend the waffle with banana and syrup, the breakfast burrito and the bacon and cheese croissant. Beautiful food prompt service. Super busy so you may have to wait a few minutes but it's definitely worth it. I will definitely... More

I visited Quay Ingredient for breakfast with a business colleague. The ingredients were very good quality, well cooked and nicely presented. It was a little pricey... more expensive than breakfast in a lot of hotels but I would return, especially when looking to impress.

Lovely service, amazing salmon and scrambled eggs. Had a side of spinach which was huuuuuge! Washed down with a lovely flat white. 10/10. See you again soon!

Recommended this wee place by locals for a brunch as I did not yet another corporate breakfast. Easy to find on Google Maps between the Guildhall and the Quay. Only has 5 tables and 3 seats at the counter so it can be busy. I opted to share a corner of a table with a gentleman eating alone and stuck... More

Been a few times for breakfast and always happy with the service and food quality. The coffees are also excellent, but the poached eggs on ezekial bread with avocado is my favourite. It is very well situated for both Newcastle Quayside and the City Centre, via Dene and Grey Street (not a bad walk). Although it is small, so you... More
