I was taken to Flat Caps by a local, which was a blessing as I don't think I would have found it myself. The cafe is below a hippy shop and has a "blink and you miss it" sign out the front. There is a winding staircase down to the cafe and it leads into a cosy intimate room. If... More

I stopped in for a coffee after seeing Flat Caps in the Northern Coffee guide. I am very glad I did they do several different coffees, I had 2 flat whites and tried 2 different espresso's and both were fantastic. They also serve some lovely cakes and treats. I strongly recommend that you come and try the Coffee for yourselves.

The coffee here is probably the best in the city. I especially like the dedication to that, and the several options that are always available. The food and cakes available are really good too. The cafe itself is rather cosy and has a great atmosphere too it. Would definitely recommend to any coffee lover.

Great atmosphere really chilled out place to come for a chat and a coffee. Coffee was very taste and it had nice latte art on it as well. ❤️

The coffee was nice but the service was brusque to say the least. Nothing explained, no pleasantries or apols when things on menu weren't available. People in the upstairs shop pretty surly too. What a shame.

Hidden gem of a coffee shop. Epic flat white, with latte art which is just "wow", and don't even get me started on the "syphon"

Newcastle's best kept secret? This hidden treasure was an unexpected find. And being a huge coffee fan, what an amazing find it was indeed. Possibly my new favourite spot. Quiet atmosphere but cosy and cool. Fabulous coffee and a great selection of bites to eat. Look forward to trying the soup! Keep it up guys this place is a gem.

After seeing all those positive reviews, thought i had to try it and expected a lot. Really disappointed, don't know at all why people have been exaggerating so much! I second all those who wrote about the bad atmosphere there. There is just a selection of about 5 toasts for food and what i disliked most is the 'welcome'. The... More
