We visited yesterday evening to celebrate my daughter's GCSE results. As usual, both food and service were faultless. We shared olives and dough petals to start, washed down with the very good house white. My request for an off-menu pizza was again fulfilled and it was very tasty indeed. All mains were perfect, as were the desserts and liqueur coffees... More

Food was excellent. I had the Duck Bruschetta with ginger. The Duck was beautifully cooked with enough of a ginger flavour to not overwhelm the other flavours. I followed this with the mushroom and pancetta risotto. The portion size was deceptive- it looked small. The risotto was deliciously creamy and full of flavour topped with various mushrooms and a great... More

We have eaten here several times. It serves traditional Italian in a very modern setting. Service is excellent, food tasty and it is not too expensive. It has nice cocktails if you are waiting for a table. Upstairs is best In my opinion but others may disagree!

This is our third year running that we have dined at Gusto. Every summer we return to the UK to spend 5 -6 weeks visiting family. Although we base ourselves mainly in the North West were we keep a house, we always spend 5 days up in Newcastle visiting my 99 year old Mother in Law and my husbands family.... More

Visited here recently, the place was very busy despite it being mid-week, the staff were very friendly and the majority of them were Italian (most seemed to be from Sardinia) and as such they were very informative about the menu. The food was very good although the portion sizes did seem a little small, would certainly visit again.

Very enjoyable, good choice. Great service. The atmosphere was lively and the decor is contemporary and comfortable. The restaurant is in a good spot on the Quayside with places to go for a drink afterwards if required.

Had a lovely lunch and sun shining so had a nice table outside. We both chose the lunchtime special and had a Gusto burger and chips with a beer for £12.50. Excellent value and very fresh food, I especially liked the relish in burger and sauce it was served with! Extensive menu and excellent service.

Description
As if the Gateshead Millennium Bridge and the Baltic Art Gallery weren't enough reason to visit Newcastle's Quayside, there is also Gusto. Make the most of those sunshine days on the beautiful terrace, and when the evening (or the clouds) draw in, step inside the large, lively bar - with a superb choice of wines and cocktails. Add a 200-year-old olive tree, sprinkled in fairy lights, and Gusto Newcastle makes any day magical.
