We have been here lots of times as a couple and with friends on numerous occasions. We found this restaurant from being a member of the 'gourmet society' which makes this a very very very affordable place to eat giving a special fine dining feel to even just a midweek evening meal after a trip to the cinema. Over the... More

A last minute meal for a friend's birthday, we were fitted in mid week no problem, the staff were very attentive and took time to explain the menu choices to us. There was a good range of options on the a la carte, but if anything I found the portions rather large ! Sadly this meant we couldn't manage desserts... More

Visited for afternoon tea with two girl friends for afternoon with cocktails and were given the menu that had a cocktail package and we decided to partake in this only to had the menu taken from us and told we could not have this and we should not have been given this menu. Shania Hernandez the manageress was very unhelpful... More

So the Christmas jumper was replaced by another voucher to come here on the 2 dine for £69 which includes 3 courses and a bottle of French wine. Menu was different to the one online which caused a slight problem. Service was also not quite as attentive as last time (perhaps as much busier) with no offer of extra bread... More

Very average for all the hype. Good service, but bland flavours, and not very extensive menu. We could just see the Bridge from our table!

Had a meal at the bridge was very nice friendly staff maybe a little slow with the food but worth the wait . The hotel its self is a lovely place, I never stayed here this time as we were on a spa break . As the Vermouth doesn't have a spa which is a shame . Nick took us... More

Live locally in Newcastle so didn't stay in the hotel but had to write a review as felt it greatly deserved. Went for a meal Friday evening on a date and the food for the second time in 4 months, simply blew me away I terms of quality, along with a very professional service from everyone in the hotel, not... Description
Tyne and dine at Newcastles Bridge Restaurant, with its spectacular views over the River Tyne and the soaring arc of the Tyne Bridge. The restaurant is in the Vermont Hotel, a Manhattan-style 1930s tower right next to the remains of the citys medieval castle and close to the revitalised Quayside area. Start with marinated herring with crisp pancetta and honey-mustard vinaigrette or the more substantial confit duck and red onion tart tatin. Then dig in to baked lamp rump with minted lentils and garlic potatoes, or pan-seared wild salmon, braised spring cabbage and clam casserole. You may think youll be able to resist the milk chocolate crme brle with Baileys ice-cream, but thats only because youll fall for the steamed lemon sponge with vanilla crme frache instead.
