Called in with friends for lunch with no expectations and was treated to possibly the best roast beef and horseradish sandwich I have had the pleasure of eating and washed down with a cracking pint of st Edmund.

We had just left Latitude festival and decided to get some lunch on the way home.. Proper knife and fork kinda stuff. Looked at the map for potential watering holes and the trip advisor and previous reviews landed us at The Anchor.. Three sausage and mash and one roast beef dinner later. We left very impressed.. Polite efficient service. Cracking... More

This was our first visit as we are new to the area. Staff lovely, friendly and efficient. Menu enticing ranging from a huge burger, to some excellent fish dishes. I had pork belly at £14 and my partner had hake at £17. Good portions, nice presentation and value for money. The interior was rustic and I would imagine with the... More

Lucked in here on spec last Sunday, 3rd July after forgetting the Riverside didn't do Sunday night food. Grabbed the last table but one & enjoyed a mixture of continental and heritage dishes: mixed antipasti, Dingley Dell belly pork. ditto loin Sunday dinner, and good old cod'n'chips. The pub is small, friendly and obviously very popular. Having had too many... More

Lovely evening at The Anchor, good atmosphere and service. Food was very good but for the main there wasn't enough. A few more potatoes or veg would have been satisfactory.

...don't order the curries. Have made that mistake twice and both times have found them bland, thin, lacking in depth and virtually no heat. Perhaps I was a bit naive to expect them to be good, in an English restaurant, but the quality and standard of everything else is very high and very tasty. So go, enjoy ambience and the... More

I'm a Woodbridge local and love eating here! The food is great with plenty of choice and gluten free options available. Been several times and always enjoy! Also has things like open mike night on a Sunday which is good fun!

Visited the pub today for lunch to meet a friend, we both ordered a drink fr the bar sat down and looked at the menu, both opting for the asparagus salad started which was absolutely lovely! Did not wait long for food and staff were very quick to clear away empty plates, a very enjoyable visit to a lovely pub!

Freshly cooked food and an interesting and varied menu; not the often-served frozen stuff here. The staff are friendly and the surroundings are olde worlde pub in style, refurbished sensitively. You need to book a table, it gets very busy; rightly so as the food is really good. We've eaten here lots of times and never been disappointed.
