This is a nice place to visit. My husband particularly enjoyed the "Gunner's Daughter" beer they brew themselves. A big minus is how understaffed they are - one poor guy was serving drinks, getting the tables ready for a busy Saturday night of bookings, and checking people in for accommodation! The food menu looked good so we'll be giving that... More

Having been here before (perhaps a year ago) and loved the place we decided to return to celebrate my birthday. Sadly the pub was uncomfortably hot and the tables packed very close to each other. This aside we ordered.. Sadly the food has really deteriorated and none of the 4 of us were impressed. Starters were a mixed bag but... More

Great beer brewed on the premises and tasty honest home cooked food. Thoroughly recommend the place and will go again.

Despite having lived in Bury for several years now and regularly eating out, this place has fell under our radar as we'd almost forgotten it was there, so when thinking of somewhere different to go for a birthday dinner we decided to book and so glad we did! The staff were welcoming and attentive, the restaurant was clean and comfortable,... More

Its been a long time since we had an evening at the Cannon Brewery. We had an enjoyable time with friendly staff. 3 value points main meal prices too high ( sausage and mash is £13.95) Like many other places no clear bar prices to view before you order. When full of people you struggle to hear your neighbours conversation.... More

On Friday night we had a girls night out with 8 of us eating at the Cannon Brewery. The food was excellent, high quality and very tasty, every plate was empty. We had pre-ordered but I had made an error, however the staff were wonderful at resolving this really quickly. The night was fun but very relaxed and the service... More

Living just around the corner this is a good place to pop into for a drink. They brew their own beer plus have a selection of others. You can take beer home as well. Drink prices are standard and the quality is good. Always enjoy a good drink here. The place is very well maintained and looked after by the... More

Just a little way outside of the town centre, this pub is glorious. When it is sunny, this is really the only place I really want to be. The food cannot be limited to 'pub grub' because it is simply just delicious, and that wouldn't be doing it justice. Great selection of ales and wines (slightly pricier than other places...but... Brief visit with friends whilst in town. First time so not sure what to expect. Working brewery and interesting to have the equipment in the main bar. Had the old cannon sausages with onions in a roll with chips. Good sized portion and truly lovely sausages ! Beer was decent and would have liked to try a few more but... More

The Old Cannon is a Brewery, Bar, Brasserie and Bed & Breakfast. Our brasserie menu (Cannon Fodder) changes with the seasons and has starters and main dishes for all tastes and appetites and, if you are still ready for more, our puddings and British cheeseboard are definitely worth saving space for. There are at least three daily changing specials. For those with a smaller appetite, many of the most popular main courses are offered as a light main too.
