The Golden chip was clean & inviting. The staff were very friendly and anxious to please. I tried the reasonably priced "OAP cod & chips". The chips were crisp and the fish was deliciously fresh covered in pale golden asian style batter.

We dropped in on our way to the Abbey and were promptly served with made-to-order special cod (small cod and chips - £4). This was a good size and very good value. They even have us some free chips which were left over.

Not often you see Salt & Pepper Squid on a chip shop menu, but here you can have a nice portion, hot & crispy for £4.50. Service with a smile & all cooked to order
